Telemedicine and urban diabetes during COVID-19 pandemic in Milano, Italy during lock-down: epidemiological and sociodemographic picture.

Background: Since 2010, more than half of World population lives in Urban Environments. Urban Diabetes has arisen as a novel nosological entity in Medicine. Urbanization leads to the accrual of a number of factors increasing the vulnerability to diabetes mellitus and related diseases.

Relapsing pure red cell aplasia associated with B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia successfully treated by intravenous immunoglobulin concentrate.

Pure red cell aplasia (PRCA) is a rare syndrome characterized by a normochromic normocytic anemia and the absence of mature erythroid precursors in an otherwise normocellular bone marrow. Acquired PRCA has been associated with autoimmune, viral or neoplastic conditions. We report the case of a patient with B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL) and PRCA.

Rhabdomyosarcoma presenting as acute hematologic malignancy: case report and review of the literature.

The authors describe a case of undifferentiated rhabdomyosarcoma from unknown primary site, presenting as an acute hematologic malignancy with generalized lymphadenopathy, extensive bone marrow involvement and clinical and laboratory features of disseminated intravascular coagulation. Such a peculiar behaviour is known for rhabdomyosarcoma but is rare and can be a serious diagnostic problem for the clinician and the pathologist. The importance of a large spectrum immunohistochemistry as first diagnostic approach to any undifferentiated small-cell malignant tumor is stressed, together with the knowledge of the different immunoreactivity patterns.

Alterations in norepinephrine content and beta adrenoceptor regulation in myocardium bordering aneurysm in human heart: their possible role in the genesis of ventricular tachycardia.

On the assumption that alterations in the adrenergic system may play a role in generating ventricular tachycardia in patients with myocardial post-infarction apical aneurysm, we evaluated norepinephrine concentration, number and affinity of both beta 1 and beta 2 adrenoceptors in perianeurysmatic tissue in twelve patients operated upon for congestive heart failure and recurrent sustained ventricular tachycardia. Concentration of norepinephrine in perianeurysmatic tissue was 0.1 +/- 0.
