A Nomogram Based on MRI Visual Decision Tree to Evaluate Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor in Hepatocellular Carcinoma.

Backgrounds: Anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) therapy has been developed and recognized as an effective treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, there remains a lack of noninvasive methods in precisely evaluating VEGF expression in HCC.

Purpose: To establish a visual noninvasive model based on clinical indicators and MRI features to evaluate VEGF expression in HCC.

Observing non-Hermiticity induced chirality breaking in a synthetic Hall ladder.

Non-Hermitian topological photonics plays a key role in bridging topological matter with gain and loss engineering in optics. Here we report the experimental observation of the break of chiral currents in a Hall ladder from the non-Hermiticity by constructing synthetic frequency dimension in two rings, where currents on both legs of the ladder co-propagate in the same direction. The origin of such phenomena is resulted from the interplay between the effective magnetic flux and the on-site gain and loss.

Amelioration of LPS-Induced Jejunum Injury and Mucus Barrier Damage in Mice by IgY Embedded in W/O/W Emulsion.

Chicken yolk immunoglobulin (IgY) is a natural immunologically active antibody extracted from egg yolk and can be used as a natural dietary supplement for the treatment of inflammation and damage to the intestines. In our study, IgY was embedded in a double emulsion (W/O/W; DE) to explore the therapeutic effect of the embedded IgY on Lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced jejunal injury in mice. The results showed that W/O/W-embedded IgY as a dietary supplement (IgY + DE) attenuated LPS-induced damage to mouse small intestinal structures and protected the integrity of the jejunal mucosal barrier.

Therapeutic Efficacy of Re-Lin-Qing Granules in Treating Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Complicated with Urinary Tract Infection: A Retrospective Study.

Purpose: Urinary tract infections (UTIs) frequently occur in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), presenting a complex pathogenesis that significantly impairs patient quality of life. Despite the availability of various clinical treatments, challenges remain regarding their efficacy and safety. Therefore, this retrospective study aimed to observe the therapeutic effects of Re-Lin-Qing granules in treating T2DM complicated by UTIs, aiming to provide more scientifically validated and effective treatment options for clinical practice.
