Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma lacks suitable biomarkers for early diagnosis of disease. In gene panels developed for early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, high AHNAK2 mRNA expression was one possible biomarker. In silico analysis of published human sample datasets (n = 177) and ex vivo analysis of human plasma samples (n = 30 PDAC with matched 30 healthy control) suggested AHNAK2 could be a diagnostic biomarker.

Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) accounts for ~20% of all breast cancer diagnoses but whilst known to be a precursor of invasive breast cancer (IBC), evidence suggests only one in six patients will ever progress. A key challenge is to distinguish between those lesions that will progress and those that will remain indolent. Molecular analyses of neoplastic epithelial cells have not identified consistent differences between lesions that progressed and those that did not, and this has focused attention on the tumour microenvironment (ME).

INTRODUCTION ETV6::JAK2 is a fusion known to drive Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) in the presence of other genomic lesions which define the JAK/STAT class of Philadelphia-like Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (Ph-like ALL). Ph-like ALL comprises approximately 15% of ALL. Patients with mutations or gene fusions signaling through the JAK/STAT pathway have particularly poor prognosis.

(1) Background: Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and other gender and sexual minority-identified (LGBTQ+) adolescents face mental and physical health disparities compared to their heterosexual and cisgender counterparts. Mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) may be a potential method to intervene upon health disparities in this population. This pilot study explores the initial acceptability and feasibility, along with the descriptive health changes of an online MBI, Learning to Breathe-Queer (L2B-Q), which was adapted to meet the needs of LGBTQ+ adolescents.

Background: Transgender and gender diverse youth experience multiple disproportionate adverse sexual health outcomes. Sexual health education teaches knowledge, attitudes, and skills for promoting sexual health, including reducing risk for sexually transmitted infection, HIV acquisition, and unintended pregnancy. Provision of sexual health education may be protective, but research remains scarce.
