The application of technology in precision medicine (i.e., using data to tailor care for specific groups) and machine learning (modeling data to develop new ways to meet particular needs) plays a vital role in population health.

The aim was to investigate the effects of rs3749034 on cognitive event-related potentials (P300) in healthy subjects and schizophrenic patients.
Methods: Determination of rs3749034 polymorphism was performed in 89 healthy volunteers and 109 schizophrenic patients (males).
Neuropathy is a disturbance of function or a pathological change in nerves causing poor health and quality of life. A proportion of chronic pain patients in the community suffer persistent neuropathic pain symptoms because current drug therapies may be suboptimal so there is a need for new therapeutic modalities. This study investigated the neuroprotective flavonoid, 6-methoxyflavone (6MF), as a potential therapeutic agent and gabapentin as the standard comparator, against neuropathic models.

We carried out a blinded extension phase to consider the safety and efficacy of repeating the pulse regimen.
Methods: Eligible participants returned to receive a psilocybin pulse at least 6 months after their first round of study participation.
Induction of mycobacterial efflux pumps is a cause of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) drug tolerance, a barrier to shortening antitubercular treatment. Verapamil inhibits Mtb efflux pumps that mediate tolerance to rifampin, a cornerstone of tuberculosis (TB) treatment. Verapamil's mycobacterial efflux pump inhibition also limits Mtb growth in macrophages in the absence of antibiotic treatment.
