This is a study on the longitudinal evaluation of cognitive functions in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients and their quality of life (QoL). The study follow-up lasted for 3 years and the evaluation was performed every 9 months for four times altogether. We present data on the first and second session, when we evaluated the frontal component of cognitive functions, behavioural memory and quality of life.

The Barrier Inventory was administered to a group of obese patients and group suffering from multiple sclerosis. Both achieved a B score significantly lower than the controls'. These results are in line with those achieved by other patients treated with the Rorschach test; this proves the Barrier Inventory's validity.

The validity of the inventory was tested by having the subjects (N = 94) complete it and answer a series of inkblot reproductions. In fact, according to Fisher, inkblot test responses are a useful means to assess the B trait.
