: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a frequent but underdiagnosed disease, primarily due to the lack of access to forced spirometry (FS) in primary care. Portable, easy-to-use expiratory flow meters like Piko-6 and COPD-6 that measure FEV, FEV, and FEV/FEV ratio provide an alternative. Given that Piko-6 and COPD-6 devices measure FEV but not FVC, the aim of the study is to determine the optimal cutoff value for the FEV/FEV ratio of each device to avoid false negatives when these devices are used for COPD screening in primary care (PC).

This study evaluated the effects of two types of plastic flooring-one with and one without nanotechnological antimicrobial additives-used as complete or partial replacements for wood shavings on broiler chicken performance, yield, meat quality, and litter microbiology over 42 days. A total of 1500 Ross 408 male broiler chicks were randomly assigned to five treatment groups: wood shavings (WS), plastic flooring (PF), a 50/50 mix of plastic flooring and wood shavings (PF + WS), plastic flooring with antimicrobial additives (PFA), and a 50/50 mix of antimicrobial plastic flooring and wood shavings (PFA + WS). This study evaluated organ biometrics (liver, heart, spleen, and gizzard), the severity of lesions, microbiological profiles, performance indices, and meat quality.

Plasmacytomas are rare monoclonal neoplastic plasma cell proliferations in soft tissue or bone, with clival plasmacytomas being extremely rare and occasionally presenting with light chain deposition disease (LCDD). While imaging findings for clival plasmacytomas have shown variable T2 signal characteristics, complete T2 signal loss has not been previously reported. We present a case of a 61-year-old female found to have a 1.

Background: The estimated incidence of chronic subdural hematomas (cSDH) in the general population is projected to nearly double over the next decade, likely making it the most commonly treated cranial neurosurgical condition in adults by 2030. We investigated the outcomes of middle meningeal artery embolization (MMAe) as either a primary or adjunctive treatment for cSDH in nonagenarian patients.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed all patients 90 years of age or older treated with middle meningeal artery embolization for cSDH from 2018 to 2024 at two academic institutions.

Introduction: NUP98 rearrangements are rare in acute leukemias and portend a poor prognosis.

Methods: This study explored clinicopathologic and molecular features of five patients with NUP98 rearranged (NUP98-r) acute leukemias, including three females and two males with a median age of 34 years.

Results: NUP98 fusion partners were associated with distinctive leukemia characteristics and biology.
