Meniscal and Chondral Injury Patterns in Athletes With Anterior Cruciate Ligament Tear.

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears are a prevalent and debilitating injury among athletes, often accompanied by concurrent meniscal and chondral injuries. This study aimed to present a comprehensive investigation into the patterns and prevalence of meniscal and chondral injuries in athletes with ACL tears. This is a cross-sectional study conducted on 600 athletic patients with ACL tears planned for reconstruction in a duration of five years.

Fertility and pregnancy in chronic myeloid leukemia: real-world experience from an Indian tertiary care institution.

Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) management during pregnancy is challenging. In this retrospective study, hospital records of CML patients treated between 2000 and 2021 were screened to identify patients who tried to conceive/got pregnant (planned and unplanned) on TKIs (tyrosine kinase inhibitors)/were pregnant at CML onset/fathered a child. We found ninety-three pregnancies involving thirty-three women and thirty-eight men, and they were analyzed for the pregnancy outcomes and the strategies utilized for CML management during pregnancy and the pre-conception period.

Multiple Myeloma: Impact of Time to Transplant on the Outcome.

Background: Autologous stem cell transplant (ASCT) is a standard therapy for transplant eligible patients of multiple myeloma (MM). To evaluate impact of time to transplant on subsequent outcomes, we analyzed data on consecutive MM patients who received novel agents-based induction prior to transplant.

Methods: Between 2006 and 2019, 363 MM patients underwent ASCT.

Detection of clinically relevant epidermal growth factor receptor pathway mutations in circulating cell-free tumor DNA using next generation sequencing in squamous cell carcinoma lung.

Background: Limited repertoires of targets are available in the management of squamous cell carcinoma lung. In this study, we analyzed epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), RAS, BRAF mutations in lung cancer patients of squamous cell histology using next-generation sequencing (NGS) on the circulating cell-free DNA (cf-DNA).

Materials And Methods: In this prospective observational study, patients with squamous cell carcinoma lung, either newly diagnosed or having a progressive disease on prior therapy were eligible.

Every distant deposit is not a metastasis: Synchronous primaries do exist.

Background: Synchronous occurrence of two malignant tumors is a rare event. With increasing use of sophisticated imaging modalities for staging, synchronous multiple tumors are more commonly detected now. Assuming the second primary malignancy as metastasis will change the intent of treatment from curative to palliative, greater awareness among oncologists is of paramount importance.
