Introduction And Aims: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease has now become a worldwide health problem, and its dramatic increase is due to the prevalence of diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and metabolic syndrome. The aim of our study was to publish the current prevalence of hepatic steatosis in a Mexican population undergoing routine medical check-up, as well as to analyze its relation to BMI, liver function tests, and lipid profile.
Materials And Methods: An observational, retrospective, cross-sectional study was conducted on patients that underwent medical check-up within the time frame of January 2011 and December 2015 at the Hospital San Javier.
Background: The urachal cyst is a rare pathology in the adult patient and in general is asymptomatic. The goal of this presentation is to learn of the errors.
Clinical Case: A 22 year old female with clinical diagnosis of acute appendicitis was taken to surgical management.
Background/aims: A retained foreign body in the abdominal cavity following surgery is a continuing problem. Despite precautions, the incidence is grossly underestimated. The purpose of this study is to report the result of surgical treatment on 24 consecutive cases treated by the authors during a 10-year period.
