Male Wistar rats (250-350g) were submitted to CLP, or sham as control, and divided into the sham + water, sham + MD (300 mg/kg), CLP + water, and CLP + MD (300 mg/kg) groups. Ten days after the administration of MD and CLP, the rats were submitted to a memory test by passive avoidance apparatus being sacrificed. The nitrite and nitrate (N/N) concentration, myeloperoxidase (MPO) and catalase (CAT) activity, lipid and protein oxidative damage, and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) levels were measured in the prefrontal cortex and hippocampus.

The main environmental problem in urban areas, especially in Brazil, is the discharge of untreated sewage. The Somatic Mutation and Recombination Test (SMART) was used to assess the genotoxicity of surface waters from three different sites in the Tocantins River, Brazil. The approach was used to search for known and predicted interactions between environmental chemicals found in our samples and a and human proteins.

Background: Brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) are systems capable of translating human brain patterns, measured through electroencephalography (EEG), into commands for an external device. Despite the great advances in machine learning solutions to enhance the performance of BCI decoders, the translational impact of this technology remains elusive.
