Management of syncope in the Emergency Department: a European prospective cohort study (SEED).

Background And Importance: In 2018, the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) produced syncope guidelines that for the first-time incorporated Emergency Department (ED) management. However, very little is known about the characteristics and management of this patient group across Europe.

Objectives: To examine the prevalence, clinical presentation, assessment, investigation (ECG and laboratory testing), management and ESC and Canadian Syncope Risk Score (CSRS) categories of adult European ED patients presenting with transient loss of consciousness (TLOC, undifferentiated or suspected syncope).

Prolonged febrile illness following first dose of ChAdOx1.

A woman in her 40s, with a known history of fibromyalgia, presented with high-grade fever and constitutional symptoms occurring 5 days following vaccination with Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine (ChAdOx1). Her inflammatory markers and neutrophil count were found to be elevated and as such, she was started on antibiotics. Despite treatment, markers remained elevated and temperature spikes persisted for another 4 weeks before these symptoms subsided, and her blood tests normalised.

Validation of an optimised microwave-assisted acid digestion method for trace and ultra-trace elements in indoor PM by ICP-MS analysis.

Three microwave-assisted digestion procedures, followed by analysis of digestates employing inductively coupled mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) were evaluated for use in the determination of elements at trace and ultra-trace levels in PM samples. Digestion procedure 1 used 2.5 mL HNO (65%) at 200 °C.

Setting Preconception Care Priorities in Australia Using a Delphi Technique.

Preconception health affects fertility, pregnancy, and future health outcomes but public awareness of this is low. Our aims were to rank priorities for preconception care (PCC), develop strategies to address these priorities, and establish values to guide future work in preconception healthcare in Australia. A Delphi technique involved two rounds of online voting and mid-round workshops.

Improving clinical care for women with endometriosis: qualitative analysis of women's and health professionals' views.

Purpose: Endometriosis is a chronic condition where endometrial-like cells proliferate outside the uterus causing pain and disability. Limited treatments are available but symptom management is essential for social and economic participation. The aim was to compare women's and health professionals' perceptions of quality of endometriosis health care and opportunities for improvements.
