Paediatric falls: An analysis of patterns of injury and associated mortality in urban India.

Background: Falls are some of the most common childhood injuries. However, for vulnerable children in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) such as India, mortality from a fall is nearly three times that of high-income countries. Despite fall being a leading cause of paediatric injury, detailed data from LMICs remain sparse.

Institution of a formal multidisciplinary heart team for high-risk coronary revascularization.

Introduction: The heart team approach is now the standard of care for patients with complex coronary artery disease; however, the definition of a heart team is variable. We embarked on a project to create an extended, multidisciplinary heart team to evaluate patients we deemed high risk for coronary revascularization. In doing so, we created a new service, workflow, and paradigm.

Clinical implementation of preemptive pharmacogenomics testing for personalized medicine at an academic medical center.

Objective: This article describes the implementation of preemptive clinical pharmacogenomics (PGx) testing linked to an automated clinical decision support (CDS) system delivering actionable PGx information to clinicians at the point of care at UCSF Health, a large Academic Medical Center.

Methods: A multidisciplinary team developed the strategic vision for the PGx program. Drug-gene interactions of interest were compiled, and actionable alleles identified.

Predicting Immune Flares in Untreated Chronic Hepatitis B Patients Using Novel Risk Factors and the FLARE-B Score.

Background And Aims: Risk factors of chronic hepatitis B (CHB) immune flares are poorly understood. The primary aim of this study was to discover predictors of the CHB flare in non-cirrhotic, untreated CHB patients and develop a simple risk-stratifying score to predict the CHB flare. The secondary aim was to compare different machine learning methods for prediction.
