Article Synopsis
  • The Mediterranean Sea is really polluted, especially with tiny pieces of plastic called microplastics.
  • Researchers have looked at many studies about this pollution over the past few years, focusing mostly on fish and other sea animals.
  • There are still big gaps in our understanding, especially in the southern parts of the Mediterranean and the Black Sea, so more studies need to be done in a more organized way.

This study aimed to retrospectively analyze the follow-up results of cases in which the adjacent joint was preserved using a custom-made uncemented short-stem design (hollow stem) with optional external flanches in tumor endoprosthetic replacement due to bone sarcomas in 13 patients (with an average age of 9.6 years) between 2017 and 2023. Reconstructions were proximal femur ( = 6), intercalary femur ( = 4), intercalary tibia ( = 2), and proximal humerus ( = 1) tumor prostheses.

Objective: This study assessed the anticancer activities of -loaded chitosan nanoparticles in gastric and colon cancer cells compared with fibroblast cells and examined the balance between ROS and antioxidants.

Methods: Considering this information, we synthesized -loaded chitosan nanoparticles (CO-CSNPs) the ionic gelation method. Their characterizations were carried out with ZetaSizer, UV-Vis, FTIR and SEM devices including size, morphology and surface zeta potential analysis, loading capacity, encapsulation efficiency, drug release, and chemical interactions.
