Background: Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disability associated with deficiency in social interaction, unusual development of social communication, and restricted or repetitive behaviors, interests and activities. This study aimed to describe management of pediatric ASD in Cameroon, a resource-constrained Central Africa country.
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted between December 2021 and May 2022 at the Pediatrics department of a reference hospital in the town of Douala.
We report a rare case of coinfection by intestinal parasitosis and myiasis ( and ) in a 10-month-old female infant living in Yaounde, an urban area in a low- and middle-income country. Incidental discovery was made following symptoms of acute vomiting and diarrhea with a massive release of an estimated thirty adult worms and larvae through nasal, buccal, and anal routes. Diagnosis was based on the macroscopic appearance of the worms and the fly larvae.

Design: Through an observational study, we included 74 adolescents aged 9-17 years who were taking HAART and had attended two care units in Cameroon for at least 6 months. Weight and height were measured and transferred to 2007 WHO curves for 5- to 19-year-olds.
Introduction: Although sub-Saharan Africa accounts for only 21% of the global population of children and adolescents aged 5-15 years, 55% of deaths among children in this age group occur in this region. This seems to be related to infectious diseases. We hypothesized that besides infectious diseases, in our context, a chronic underlying condition increases mortality.
