Background: This review provides an overview of the literature on shared decision-making (SDM) in patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) or peripheral artery disease (PAD) and identifies barriers and facilitators.
Methods: A systematic scoping review was conducted, in which 4 databases were systematically searched for the period January 2007 to November 2024. All articles were reviewed by 2 independent authors and asses for quality using the mixed-methods appraisal tool (MMAT).
Background: The accumulation of calcium load in peripheral lower extremity arteries has been associated with increased severity of peripheral artery disease (PAD) and mortality. While calcium scores are commonly calculated from non-contrast computed tomography (CT) scans, patients with PAD often undergo contrast-enhanced CT scans. This study aims to explore the association between a length-adjusted calcium score (LACS) of the iliofemoral arteries, determined through pre-intervention contrast-enhanced CT, and major adverse events in patients with chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI).

Currently endorsed clinical practice guidelines lack structural evidence on how the iliac landing zone should be assessed in the pre-, intra-, and postoperative phases. The goal of this study was to obtain an international, expert-based consensus on the definition of a hostile iliac landing zone, on how to size and plan stent-grafts to optimize sustainable distal seal, and on the postprocedural follow-up protocol.

This study assessed the validity and reliability of two types of wearable sensors, based on electrocardiogram or photoplethysmography, compared with continuous monitoring of patients recovering from trauma surgery at the postanesthesia care unit. (2) Methods: In a prospective observational study, HR, RR, SpO, and temperature of patients were simultaneously recorded with the VitalPatch and Radius PPG and compared with reference monitoring.

Purpose: Automatic virtual reconstruction of complex fractures would be helpful for pre-operative surgical planning. We developed a statistical shape model (SSM) which contains data of 200 intact 3D hemipelves. It allows for quantification of shape differences and is able to reconstruct abnormal shaped pelvises.
