The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) provides online information resources for biology, including the GenBank® nucleic acid sequence repository and the PubMed® repository of citations and abstracts published in life science journals. NCBI provides search and retrieval operations for most of these data from 31 distinct repositories and knowledgebases. The E-utilities serve as the programming interface for most of these.

A systematic search of 5 databases for quantitative reports resulted in 1,379 potentially relevant entries, of which 34 met the inclusion criteria. Studies were screened using prespecified criteria for the population (adults), outcomes (individual-level outcomes), study design (quantitative, including arrest for DV as a focal independent variable and a non-arrest comparator), publication type (peer-reviewed academic journal), study location (United States), language (English), and publication year (in or after 1984).

While theoretical predictions imply that communication distances can drive the evolution of mammalian alliance sizes, empirical tests of this hypothesis are currently lacking. In Shark Bay, Western Australia, unrelated male bottlenose dolphins form multilevel alliances, where males work together in pairs or trios to herd single estrus females.

Methods: A steering committee (including eight individuals with lived experience/charity representatives and six clinicians) designed a survey which asked stakeholders to list three questions about type 1 diabetes. This was disseminated through social media, direct email contact, and printed posters.
Background: Fcγ-receptor (FcγR)-independent enhancement of SARS-CoV-2 infection mediated by N-terminal domain (NTD)-binding monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) has been observed , but the functional significance of these antibodies is less clear.
Methods: We characterized 1,213 SARS-CoV-2 spike (S)-binding mAbs derived from COVID-19 convalescent patients for binding specificity to the SARS-CoV-2 S protein, VH germ-line usage, and affinity maturation. Infection enhancement in a vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV)-SARS-CoV-2 S pseudovirus (PV) assay was characterized in respiratory and intestinal epithelial cell lines, and against SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern (VOC).
