Research is one of the American Burn Association's (ABA) strategic priorities. Advocacy is required not only to promote burn research, but also, the ABA's other strategic priorities (Prevention, Quality, and Education). The ABA convened a two-day Research and Advocacy (R&A) Summit in September 2023, to develop a roadmap for the organization's research and advocacy efforts.

As part of the Competence by Design approach to plastic surgical training, residents are provided with a list of 52 "Entrustable professional activities' (EPA's) to ensure that core skills and knowledge are acquired. This survey, distributed via email using a link to Survey Monkey, sought to determine which EPA's were available for completion by plastic surgeons in training during the burn rotation at a major academic burn centre in Canada.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThis Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) addresses the topic of acute fluid resuscitation during the first 48 hours following a burn injury for adults with burns ≥20% of the total body surface area (%TBSA). The listed authors formed an investigation panel and developed clinically relevant PICO (Population, Intervention, Comparator, Outcome) questions. A systematic literature search returned 5978 titles related to this topic and after 3 levels of screening, 24 studies met criteria to address the PICO questions and were critically reviewed.
