Unexpected placenta accreta spectrum in an unscarred uterus causing catastrophic post-partum hemorrhage: a case report and review of the literature.

Background: Placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) disorder is a fatal condition responsible for obstetric haemorrhage, which contributes to increased feto-maternal morbidity and mortality. The main contributing factor is a scarred uterus, often from a previous cesarean delivery, myomectomy, or uterine instrumentation. The occurrence of PAS in an unscarred uterus is extremely rare, with only anecdotal cases reported so far in the literature.

Aims: This pilot study aimed to compare the marginal adaptation of composite resin at the tooth-restoration interface, before and after radiation.

Subjects And Methods: Fifteen extracted premolars were divided into 2 experimental groups (based on the timing of irradiation) and 1 control group of 5 teeth each. In Group I (control group), teeth were restored but not exposed to radiation at any stage, Group II: teeth were irradiated before cavity preparation and restoration, and Group III: after cavity preparation and restoration employing selective etch technique, teeth were exposed to radiation.

Benign recurrent intrahepatic cholestasis (BRIC) is a rare, autosomal recessive liver disorder characterized by intermittent episodes of cholestasis without progression to chronic liver disease or cirrhosis. Patients experience recurrent jaundice and severe pruritus, significantly impacting their quality of life. This case report presents a 15-year-old boy with a history of recurrent jaundice and pruritus.
