Objectives: To evaluate the functional outcome of patients with surgically treated terrible triad of the elbow.

Methods: A retrospective evaluation was performed using the MEPS score (Mayo Elbow Performance Score) of patients diagnosed with terrible triad of the elbow who underwent surgical treatment.

Results: 14 patients (nine men and five women) and 15 elbows (one bilateral case) were evaluated.

Purpose: To validate and to report the results of a new inexpensive video-based method to measure upper eyelid motion during spontaneous blinks.

Methods: Spontaneous blinks were simultaneously recorded in 21 healthy adult subjects for 5 minutes with magnetic search coil (MSC) and a portable video system (VDS) composed by a commercial high-speed camera coupled to a laptop computer and a blue light-emitting diode. Agreement between the 2 methods was assessed using qualitative comparison of the eyelid motion traces and Bland-Altman plots.

Pectus excavatum (PEX) is the most frequent congenital deformity of the anterior chest wall. Few studies have classified the degree of anatomical distortion in an objective manner. Our objective was to present two new clinical and original methods for evaluation of PEX deformity developed in our service (chest cyrtometry and anthropometric index) that are simple and easily applicable in the office.

The present report describes an original surgical procedure for the mandibular reconstruction of 2 different defects using a single fibular flap. In addition to the habitual osteotomies, we resected a bone fragment from the middle portion of the flap, with care taken to maintain the integrity of the pedicle throughout its extension to guarantee an adequate blood supply also for the distal portion of the bone flap used for the treatment of the smaller mandibular defect. This simple maneuver permitted the reconstruction of 2 mandibular regions with well-vascularized bone tissue using a single microsurgical flap.
