Centromeric DNA and proteins evolve rapidly despite conserved function in mediating kinetochore-microtubule attachments during cell division. This paradox is explained by selfish DNA sequences preferentially binding centromeric proteins to disrupt attachments and bias their segregation into the egg (drive) during female meiosis. Adaptive centromeric protein evolution is predicted to prevent preferential binding to these sequences and suppress drive.

Piperacillin-tazobactam (PTZ) demonstrates time-dependent bactericidal activity, potentially increasing the need for higher dosing in obese and critically ill patients. However, limited information is available on the safety of higher dosing strategies. To evaluate the safety and clinical impact of high dose 6.

Background: Pharmacy-to-dose (PTD) services describe an established practice where providers consult pharmacists for various medication dosing. In 2019, several institutions approved a daptomycin protocol, which allowed pharmacists to select doses based on provider-selected indications, renal function, and body mass index (BMI).

Objective: This study aims to determine the utility of a daptomycin PTD consult service.

Cerebral palsy (CP) is a pediatric onset disorder with poorly understood molecular causes and progression, making early diagnosis difficult. Circular RNAs are regulatory RNAs that show promise as biomarkers in various diseases but the role of circular RNAs in CP is beginning to be understood. This study identified the role of circNFIX in regulating the expression of myocyte-specific enhancer factor 2C (MEF2C), an important transcription factor for sarcomere development.
