Previous studies focused on the best applicable dose and administration method to minimize blood loss. Although the surgical approach is another factor that may influence perioperative bleeding, no previous research has examined its concurrent impact alongside TXA.

Background: The distinction between normal and high blood pressure remains a debated topic, with varying guidelines on when to start medication. Contemporary guidelines advocate for the initiation of antihypertensive therapy in individuals who present with high-normal blood pressure, particularly those exhibiting elevated 10-year atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk scores. Despite these recommendations, there is a notable lack of direct evidence supporting the efficacy of treating high-normal blood pressure to prevent major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE).

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to evaluate the impact of grafting on the outcomes of open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) in patients with calcaneal fractures, comparing those who received bone grafts to those who did not.
  • 60 patients with unilateral closed Sanders type II calcaneal fractures were assessed for radiological and functional outcomes over an average follow-up of 25.1 months, using various pain and function metrics.
  • Results showed no significant differences in most measurements between the two groups, although the group with bone grafts reported slightly less pain and had more favorable talar declination angles.

Background: The effect of vaccination on the SARS-CoV-2 baseline viral load and clearance during COVID-19 infection is debatable. This study aimed to assess the effects of demographic and vaccination characteristics on the viral load of SARS-CoV-2.

Methods: We included the patients referred for outpatient SARS-CoV-2 qRT-PCR (reverse transcriptase quantitative polymerase chain reaction) test between July and September 2022.
