Using ab initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) simulations, based on density functional theory that also accounts for van der Waals interactions, we study the oxidation of gas-phase CO on MoSe with a Se vacancy and oxygen coverage of 0.125 ML. In the equilibrium configuration, one of the O atoms is adsorbed on the vacancy and the other one atop one Se atom.

We study the superfluid properties of a system of fully polarized dipolar bosons moving in the XY plane. We focus on the general case where the polarization field forms an arbitrary angle α with respect to the Z axis, while the system is still stable. We use the diffusion Monte Carlo and the path integral ground state methods to evaluate the one-body density matrix and the superfluid fractions in the region of the phase diagram where the system forms stripes.

The study of changes in climate on the scale of the entire history of Earth requires absolute dating methods that cover the total time period. Th and U disequilibria, as well as Pa and U, have shown as good candidates to provide ages older than 50ky. Therefore, they are the basis for a method that allows extending the C dating up to 500ky or even further.
