Anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)-fusion proteins resulting from chromosomal rearrangements are promising targets for cancer immunotherapy. While ALK-specific CD8+ T cells and epitopes presented on MHC class I have been identified in patients with ALK-positive malignancies, little is known about ALK-specific CD4+ T cells. We screened peripheral blood of ten ALK-positive anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALK+ALCL) patients in remission and six healthy donors for CD4+ T-cell responses to the whole ALK-fusion protein, nucleophosmin (NPM1)::ALK.

The family Poxviridae comprises multiple viruses with large double-stranded (ds) DNA genomes that can infect numerous vertebrate and invertebrate hosts, including humans. The development of genetic engineering methods for Vaccinia virus (VACV), the prototypic member in the family, have allowed the manipulation of the genomes of poxviruses for the generation of recombinant (r)VACV expressing easily traceable luciferase and/or fluorescent reporter genes. These recombinant viruses have significantly contributed to progress in the field of poxvirus research and accelerated the development of novel prophylactic vaccines and therapeutic antiviral treatments.

Purpose: The main aim of this study was to determine the short- and long-term outcomes of the non-operative management of acute left-sided complicated diverticulitis (ALCD) in severely immunocompromised patients (IMS group) and compare them with immunocompetent patients (IC group). The secondary aim was to assess the necessity of an elective surgery following a successful prior non-operative management in the IMS group after a non-operative management of the first episode of ALCD.

Methods: Patients presented with their first episode of ALCD between 2012 and 2018 were retrospectively reviewed.

Biased skeletal part representation is a key element for making inferences about transport decisions, carcass procurement, and use patterns in anthropogenic accumulations. In the absence of destructive taphonomic processes, it is often assumed that the abundance of different anatomical portions represents selective transport and discard patterns of human groups. Because body parts may be transported for specific products such as meat, marrow or grease, a pattern that usually attracts attention in many archaeological sites is the low proportions of appendicular epiphyses.

Background: Alemtuzumab is a high-efficacy treatment approved for relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS). Although clinical trials and observational studies are consistent in showing its efficacy and manageable safety profile, further studies under clinical practice conditions are needed to further support its clinical use.

Objective: The aim of this observational retrospective study was to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of alemtuzumab to add to the current real-world evidence on the drug.
