The role of local governments in the implementation of evidence-based nutrition interventions in Kerala.

Objective: To study the involvement and influence of local participatory governments consisting of institutions (PRIs) in implementing evidence-based interventions for eliminating maternal and child undernutrition in the state of Kerala, India.

Methods: In-depth interviews were carried out among stakeholders in six selected local governments using a semi-structured questionnaire. Transcribed interviews were coded and thematically analysed.
