Impact of WHO's Surgical Safety Checklist-Based Program on Cleft-lip and Palate Repair Outcomes in LMICs-The CLEAN CLEFT Program.

Background: "Clean Cleft" (CC) is an adaptation of the Lifebox Clean Cut program, designed to reduce surgical site infections (SSIs) in cleft lip and palate repairs. It focuses on 6 key processes: hand and site decontamination, surgical linen integrity, instrument sterility, timely antibiotic use, gauze counting, and WHO Surgical Safety Checklist compliance. The study explores CC's effectiveness in reducing infections, other complications, and enhancing early recovery.

Ventral partial diphallia associated with hypospadias: A case report.

Diphallia, or penile duplication, is a rare congenital urological malformation. It may be associated with other congenital malformations. The objective of present paper is to report the case of a two-year boy with ventral duplication of the penis associated with proximal hypospadias.

A Prospective Epidemiological Survey of Paediatric Trauma in Africa: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Background: Trauma is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in children worldwide. There is a need for development and provision of efficient paediatric trauma services based on adequate information and funding which are lacking in low- and middle-income countries.

Aims: This study was carried out to assess the scale of the problem, identify the most common causes of trauma in Pan African Paediatric Surgical Association (PAPSA) zone and to define the limiting factors for provision of the necessary services required to reduce the potential mortality and disability.

Van Der Woude Syndrome: A Case Series at Chu D' Treichville, Abidjan, Cote D' Ivoire.

Background: Van der Woude syndrome (VWS), characterised mainly by lower lip pits and orofacial cleft (OFC), is the most common syndrome associated with an OFC. It is inherited as an autosomal dominant, high penetrance disorder with variable phenotypic expression and caused by the genetic mutation of the interferon regulatory factor 6 gene (IRF6). This study showcases the syndrome's variable phenotypic expressivity in six cases seen at Chu d' Treichvile, Abidjan, and Cote d'Ivoire.

Bladder exstrophy: Modern staged repair experience in our institution.

Introduction: Bladder exstrophy is a major malformation in paediatric urology. The treatment results are not still completely satisfactory, and their management is an enormous problem in Sub-Saharan Africa. While outlining our challenges, we report our management experience to improve our results.
