After training male rats on a treadmill for 6 weeks, LPL activity, mass, and mRNA levels were measured in adipose tissue, heart, soleus, and extensor digitorum longus (EDL) muscles and compared with levels in sedentary rats.

Insulin effect on renal sodium reabsorption in adolescent offspring of essential hypertensive parents.

We previously showed that children and adolescent offspring of patients with essential hypertension have an increased proximal renal sodium reabsorption as measured by lithium fractional excretion.
