The Impact of Diagnosis-Specific Plan Templates on Admission Note Writing Time: A Quality Improvement Initiative.

There are limited objective studies regarding the effectiveness of strategies to alleviate the documentation burden on resident physicians. To develop and implement diagnosis-specific templates for the plan of care section of inpatient admission notes, aiming to reduce documentation time. Twelve templates for the plan of care section of admission notes were written by the study authors, reviewed by attending physicians, and shared with the residents through the electronic health record (EHR) on September 23, 2022.

Successfully Transitioning an Interruptive Alert into a Noninterruptive Alert for Central Line Dressing Changes in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Background:  Interruptive alerts are known to be associated with clinician alert fatigue, and poorly performing alerts should be evaluated for alternative solutions. An interruptive alert to remind clinicians about a required peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) dressing change within the first 48 hours after placement resulted in 617 firings in a 6-month period with only 11 (1.7%) actions taken from the alert.

Background: Health authorities are near universal in their recommendation to replace sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) with water. Non-nutritive sweetened beverages (NSBs) are not as widely recommended as a replacement strategy due to a lack of established benefits and concerns they may induce glucose intolerance through changes in the gut microbiome. The STOP Sugars NOW trial aims to assess the effect of the substitution of NSBs (the "intended substitution") versus water (the "standard of care substitution") for SSBs on glucose tolerance and microbiota diversity.

Purification of native dehydrin from Glycine Max cv., Pisum sativum, and Rosmarinum officinalis by affinity chromatography.

An improved method for the purification of dehydrin from soy (glycine max) is described. Acidic extraction of soy whey was followed by a three step chromatographic process: capture on copper charged Chelating Sepharose Big Beads, intermediate hydrophobic interaction chromatography on Source 15 PHE, and a polishing step on blue Sepharose. The 32-kDa native soy dehydrin was purified to a purity of greater than 98.

Goserelin acetate as treatment for recurrent endometrial carcinoma: a Gynecologic Oncology Group study.

This Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG) study was designed to estimate the activity of goserelin acetate as treatment for advanced and recurrent endometrial carcinoma. Forty evaluable patients received monthly treatment with goserelin acetate at a dose of 3.6 mg, given subcutaneously.
