The fate of a drug administered to a living organism depends on the pharmacological and pharmacokinetic behavior of drugs. Biological macromolecules like serum albumins have a crucial role in the design and biological safety assessments of drugs. Amikacin as an example of the most used semi-synthetic aminoglycosides antibiotics, is included in the crucial drug list of the World Health Organization.

This study explores the impact of inductive and deductive aural vocabulary pre-teaching on word recognition from speech (WRS) among 72 Iranian EFL intermediate learners from a language institute. Participants were randomly divided into three groups: Group A (inductive), Group B (deductive), and Group C (routine instruction of the language institute). Each group consisted of 24 participants, with 12 male and 12 female intermediate EFL learners.

NAD(H)-dependent enzymes play a crucial role in the biosynthesis of pharmaceuticals and fine chemicals, but the limited recyclability of the NAD(H) cofactor hinders its more general application. Here, we report the generation of mechano-responsive PEI-modified Cry3Aa protein crystals and their use for NADH recycling over multiple reaction cycles. For demonstration of its practical utility, a complementary Cry3Aa protein particle containing genetically encoded and co-immobilized formate dehydrogenase for NADH regeneration and leucine dehydrogenase for catalyzing the NADH-dependent l--leucine (l--Leu) biosynthesis has been produced.

Article Synopsis
  • Diabetes mellitus (DM) affects about 5% of the global population and can lead to serious health issues like kidney, eye, nerve, and heart problems.
  • Resveratrol (RSV), a natural polyphenol, shows potential benefits in preventing and treating these complications by improving insulin sensitivity, regulating blood sugar, and activating key proteins in diabetic patients.
  • While RSV's antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects contribute to its therapeutic role in diabetes complications, more research is needed to fully understand its mechanisms.

This study presents a novel packaging film based on whey protein isolate/κ-carrageenan (WC) with red grape pomace anthocyanins (RGA) to investigate its impact on some qualitative attributes of emergency food bars (EFBs) for 6 months at 38°C. Increasing the RGA dose in WC films from 5% (WCA5) to 10% (WCA10) reduced hydrogen bonding between polymers and polymer homogeneity in the matrix according to FTIR and SEM. Tensile strength slightly declined in WCA5 from 7.
