Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates how dark deprivation influences liver health and circadian rhythms when exposed to carbon tetrachloride (CCl), a known hepatotoxic agent.
  • While much is known about CCl's effects on the liver, research on its impact within the context of circadian rhythms is limited, and many studies focus on isolated periods rather than the overall rhythm.
  • Findings suggest that dark deprivation leads to more severe structural and functional liver changes due to reduced melatonin levels, indicating the need for further research on the role of melatonin in these processes.

Post-Covid syndrome is characterized by general somatic manifestations, changes in the psycho-emotional sphere, cognitive disorders, disorders of the cardiovascular, respiratory systems and excretory function. However, there is little information in the literature about the mechanisms of thanatogenesis in patients who have had COVID-19. An analysis of clinical and laboratory parameters and pathomorphological changes was carried out in 9 autopsy cases of patients who had previously suffered a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

Background: Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is an immune-mediated disease, manifested by dysphagia and characterized by intraepithelial infiltration: more than 15 eosinophils per field of view at x400 magnification, and requiring differential diagnosis with reflux esophagitis (RE).

Objective: To access the implication of EoE histologic scoring system (EoEHSS) for differential diagnosis of EoE and RE and to characterize features of immune response in these diseases.

Material And Methods: 38 patients with EoE and 38 patients with RE were enrolled in the study.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an idiopathic, autoimmune connective tissue disorder that primarily affects the synovial joints, causing symmetric, erosive-deforming polyarthritis. It is also associated with extra-articular manifestations, particularly cardiovascular (CV) diseases (CVD). CV risk modification in RA remains unsolved despite recent advances in the management of RA.
