Background: Breast cancer treatments often cause serious side effects, but physical exercise has shown the potential to improve both the physical and psychological health outcomes of survivors. This review and meta-analysis aimed to synthesize and analyze the scientific evidence on the effectiveness of concurrent training on physical, psychological, and biomarkers variables on breast cancer survivors.; Methods: A systematic review and meta-analysis was registered in PROSPERO (CRD42024571851).

Cortisol, testosterone and psychosocial responses in the assessment of stress in police officers: a brief systematic review of the literature.

Given the nature of their profession, police officers cannot limit their exposure to stress and trauma, and the endocrine system plays a vital role in regulating and preparing the human body. This study aims to identify studies that have studied the behavior of the hormones cortisol and testosterone in their relationship with the physical and psychological performance of police officers and/or in a training/simulation scenario. The systematic review, limited from 2011 to 2022, was carried out according to the PICO and Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses research strategy, considering seven articles for the critical analysis (classified based on the modified Physiotherapy Evidence Database scale).

Safety Implications of Off-Label Medication Use in Athletes: A Narrative Review.

In recent years, the off-label use of medications in sports has increased significantly, primarily driven by psychological and social factors. Athletes frequently misuse drugs without adequate medical supervision, relying on unreliable sources of information, which leads to improper usage and serious health risks. This narrative review analyzes literature from PubMed (Medline), Scopus, and Web of Science databases, focusing on studies up to December 2023, to examine the safety concerns related to off-label drug use in sports.

MoveONParkinson: developing a personalized motivational solution for Parkinson's disease management.

Introduction: Despite the effectiveness of exercise-based interventions on symptom management and disease progression, many people with Parkinson's Disease (PwPD) do not exercise regularly. In line with the ubiquitous use of digital health technology, the MoveONParkinson digital solution was developed, comprising a Web Platform and a Mobile App with a Conversational Agent (CA). The interface features were designed based on the principles of Social Cognitive Theory with the goal of fostering behavior change in PwPD for sustained exercise participation and improved disease management.
