Article Synopsis
  • Treatment Planning Systems (TPS) are evaluated for their effectiveness in correcting distortions in Magnetic Resonance (MR) images using a virtual phantom and Control Points (CPs).
  • The study involved creating distorted MR images and applying TPS, with findings showing that distortion caused median deviations of 1.8 mm, which were reduced to 0.6 mm after correction.
  • Structural Similarity Metric (SSIM) tests indicated significant improvements in image quality, with the TPS successfully reducing distortions to levels acceptable for radiosurgery.

Article Synopsis
  • Agenesis of the gallbladder (AGB) is a rare congenital condition that can be misdiagnosed as a shrunken gallbladder during ultrasounds, often leading to unnecessary surgeries.
  • A case involving a 54-year-old woman with abdominal pain demonstrated that even during laparoscopic surgery, the gallbladder could not be found, prompting suspicion of AGB, which was later confirmed by intra-operative cholangiography and a post-operative CT scan.
  • Increased awareness of AGB among radiologists and surgeons is crucial to prevent misdiagnoses and avoid unnecessary surgical procedures that may harm the biliary tract.

Built on neurodegenerative lesions models, the disrupted motor grounding hypothesis (DMGH) posits that motor-system alterations selectively impair action comprehension. However, major doubts remain concerning the dissociability, neural signatures, and etiological generalizability of such deficits. Few studies have compared action-concept outcomes between disorders affecting and sparing motor circuitry, and none has examined their multimodal network predictors via data-driven approaches.

The pressing call to detect sensitive cognitive markers of frontal lobe epilepsy (FLE) remains poorly addressed. Standard frameworks prove nosologically unspecific (as they reveal deficits that also emerge across other epilepsy subtypes), possess low ecological validity, and are rarely supported by multimodal neuroimaging assessments. To bridge these gaps, we examined naturalistic action and non-action text comprehension, combined with structural and functional connectivity measures, in 19 FLE patients, 19 healthy controls, and 20 posterior cortex epilepsy (PCE) patients.
