Rehabilitation coordinator - managers' experiences of a new function in health care.

Background: Several actions have been taken to improve the sick listing process, patient safety and return to work. One of them is the implementation of the rehabilitation coordinator function, of which the benefits have not yet been fully explored. Neither has the role of the manager, who has significant impact on the implementation and support of a new function.

- A retrospective analysis of 172 patients (43 with SDs and 129 without) was conducted using data from 2018-2022, focusing on their Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) over time.
- Results showed that while preoperative KOOS scores were similar, those with SDs experienced significantly greater improvements in KOOS scores one year post-surgery, suggesting that chronic sleep disorders may lead to better reported outcomes after TKA.
