Article Synopsis
- Two new xanthones, xanthoschomes A and B, were discovered from Vietnamese fruit, alongside six known xanthones.
- All compounds were thoroughly characterized using spectroscopic methods and literature comparisons.
- The new compounds showed significant inhibition of alpha-glucosidase, particularly one with an IC value of 2.91 M, which was much more effective than the standard treatment, acarbose (IC 179 M).
Two previously unreported isoflavonoids, placoisoflavones A and B ( and ), along with five known compounds, calopogonium isoflavone B (), jamaicin (), 6-methoxycalopogonium isoflavone A (), vestitol (), and caviunin () have been isolated from the stems of N.D.Khôi & Yakovlev.
