The pearlspot, Etroplus suratensis is a climate resilient cichlid fish that exhibits unusual adaptation to salinity. The fish is able to complete full life cycle in diverse salinity habitats ranging from fresh water to marine environments. High-quality primary and phased genome assemblies were generated for pearlspot fish using PacBio HiFi and Arima HiC sequencing technologies, for the first time.

Chondrosarcomas are malignant, cartilage-forming neoplasms. As these tumours are resistant to chemotherapy and radiotherapy, en-bloc excision of the tumour with wide margins is the only option that provides maximum disease-free survival and possible cure. Case: A 28-year old male patient was involved in a RTA and sustained a highly comminuted L4 burst fracture with more than 90% canal compromise.Considering the complete loss of power in the respective myotomes but the preservation of sacral sparing there were controversially different surgical options. We successfully performed a posterior only surgical procedure, which applied a modified transpedicle access technique to decompress the spinal canal and to restore the anterior column, achieving full neurological recovery at the final follow-up.

This study investigated the temporal dynamics of childhood sepsis by analyzing gene expression changes associated with proinflammatory processes. Five datasets, including four meningococcal sepsis shock (MSS) datasets (two temporal and two longitudinal) and one polymicrobial sepsis dataset, were selected to track temporal changes in gene expression.
