Introduction: We report the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetic characteristics and preliminary efficacy of a multi-kinase inhibitor (TG02 capsule) as a new therapy for patients with recurrent high-grade gliomas in China.
Methods: This is a single-center, dose-escalation, open-label phase I study, which enrolled patients with recurrent high-grade gliomas who failed to temozolomide. Patients were assigned sequentially into different dose groups and received TG02 every 4 weeks.
Context: Precision medicine for pituitary neuroendocrine tumors (PitNETs) is limited by the lack of reliable research models.
Objective: To generate patient-derived organoids (PDOs), which could serve as a platform for personalized drug screening for PitNET patients.
Design: From July 2019 to May 2022, a total of 32 human PitNET specimens were collected for the establishment of organoids with an optimized culture protocol.
Purpose: The optimal dose and range of radiation therapy for central nervous system nongerminomatous germ cell tumors (NGGCTs) have not been uniformly established. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effect of individualized radiation therapy, based on the response to induction chemotherapy combined with surgery, on the prognosis of patients with NGGCTs.
Methods And Materials: Based on the imaging examination and tumor markers after induction chemotherapy and pathologic results of second-look surgery, patients with NGGCT received different radiation therapy strategies, including 30.
The conventional direct parameter extraction method generally suffers from cumbersome due to redundant experiments. An efficient and systematical parameter extracting solution is proposed based on an equivalent circuit model of distributed feedback (DFB) lasers. The successfully built circuit model includes the necessary intrinsic parameters in the rate equations and the extrinsic parameters to provide a better approximation of the actual laser.

The role of fibroblast activation protein (FAP) in gliomas has been demonstrated to facilitate tumor progression. Glioma-circulating biomarkers have not yet been used in clinical practice.

Methods: Based on imaging examination, tumor markers, and pathologic results, patients with germinoma received different radiotherapy strategies, including R1 (24 Gy whole ventricular irradiation + tumor-bed boost to 40 Gy), R2 (24-30 Gy craniospinal irradiation + tumor-bed boost to 54 Gy), R3 (24 Gy craniospinal irradiation + tumor-bed boost to 40 Gy), and R4 (30 Gy craniospinal irradiation + tumor-bed boost to 54 Gy with 45 Gy to spinal metastasis).

The present study investigated the anti-tumour effects of scoparone, also known as 6,7-dimethoxycoumarin, in non-small-cell-lung cancer (NSCLC) cells. It was discovered that scoparone inhibited the proliferation and induced cell death of NSCLC cells. Scoparone induced both apoptosis and ferroptosis in NSCLC cells.

Hypertriglyceridemia is a well-recognized etiology of acute pancreatitis, and the incidence of hypertriglyceridemic acute pancreatitis (HTG-AP) has increased in frequency worldwide in response to lifestyle changes. It is crucial to identify hypertriglyceridemia as the cause of pancreatitis and initiate appropriate treatment. Insulin treatment produces effective lowering of triglycerides, but in our opinion, non-diabetic patients with HTG-AP require separate consideration to avoid hypoglycemia.

Methods: Glioma patients who received both primary surgery and reoperation when recurrence at Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center from June 2001 to June 2019 were enrolled. Clinical and pathological characteristics were analyzed retrospectively, and histopathology of reoperation specimens was divided into three categories according to tumor cell activity and the degree of necrosis: active group, low-activity group, and necrosis group.
Introduction: Immune status was evaluated by means of lymphocyte subset counts and immune factors in cancer. This study analyzed the peripheral blood immune index and survival outcomes in intracranial germ cell tumor (iGCT) patients.
Methods: Peripheral blood lymphocyte subset counts and levels of interleukin (IL)-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, tumor necrosis factor (TNF), and interferon-γ (IFN) from 133 iGCT patients were collected and retrospectively analyzed.
Background: Brain metastases (BM) from non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most common brain malignancy. Systemic inflammation biomarkers have recently been evaluated as prognosis indicators in several tumors. The combination of these markers has not been evaluated in NSCLC with BM yet.

The signal expression of shaping current is deduced theoretically from the dependence of DFB desired output waveforms in detail, and the specific parameters derivation of the different polynomial degree is also discussed necessarily. Furthermore, a polynomial p-function with inverse operation is adopted to construct the Fourier series corresponding to injection current waveform signal.

We reviewed a study addressing the development and validation of a prediction model for moderately severe and severe acute pancreatitis in pregnancy. We identified some statistical deficiencies in this article. In addition, we believe that the role of cholesterol as a predictor should be described in more detail.

PARP-1 (Poly ADP-ribose polymerase 1) is a hot spot for cancer-targeted therapy and was reported to be significantly elevated in glioma. In this study, we analyzed the role of PARP-1 in DNA damage repair, constructed a PARP1-related DNA-repair prognostic signature (DPS), and screened targeted drugs for glioma.
