Background: The association between urbanization and myocardial infarction in China was not fully understood. We aim to evaluate the association between urbanization level and the risk of myocardial infarction.
Methods: Participants' data from China Health and Nutrition Survey were analyzed.
Objective: Bergenin (BGN) is a C-glycoside of 4-O-methylgallic acid with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and tissue-repairing abilities. Here, we probed the roles and mechanisms of BGN in ischemic stroke-mediated cerebral injury.
Methods: The middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) model was established in mice, which were injected intraperitoneally with varying concentrations of BGN (10, 20, and 40 mg/kg).
Nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT) catalyzes the methylation of nicotinamide. Our previous works indicate that NNMT is involved in the body mass index and energy metabolism, and recently the association between a SNP (rs694539) of and a variety of cardiovascular diseases was reported. At present, more than 200 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) have been identified in the databases of the human genome projects; however, the association between rs694539 variation and hyperlipidemia has not been reported yet, and whether there are any SNPs in significantly associated with hyperlipidemia is still unclear.
