Interferometric radiometers operating at L-band, such as ESA's SMOS mission, enable crucial Earth observations providing high-resolution measurements of soil moisture, ocean salinity, and other geophysical parameters. However, the increasing electromagnetic spectrum utilization has led to significant Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) challenges, particularly critical given the sensors' fine temperature resolution requirements of less than 1 K. This work presents the hardware implementation of an advanced RFI detection and mitigation algorithm specifically designed for interferometric radiometers, targeting future L-band missions.

This block utilizes computationally-efficient techniques to identify and analyze RF signals, allowing the system to take appropriate measures to mitigate interference and maintain reliable performance. With L-Band microwave radiometry as the main application, this RFI detection algorithm focuses on the Kurtogram and Spectrogram to detect non-Gaussian behavior.

To enhance our understanding of advanced CCA, it is imperative to establish preclinical models that faithfully recapitulate the disease's characteristics. Patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models have emerged as a valuable approach in cancer research, offering an avenue to reproduce and study the genomic, histologic, and molecular features of the original human tumors.

Here, we demonstrate that the simultaneous inhibition of LOXL2 and BRD4 synergistically limits TNBC proliferation in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, LOXL2 interacts in the nucleus with the short isoform of BRD4 (BRD4S), MED1, and the cell cycle transcriptional regulator B-MyB.

However, the molecular mechanisms associated with NEPC development and invasiveness are still poorly understood. Here we investigated the expression and functional significance of Fascin-1 (FSCN1), a pro-metastasis actin-bundling protein associated with poor prognosis of several cancers, in neuroendocrine differentiation of prostate cancer.

Differentiation of MCCs requires the sequential action of the Geminin family transcriptional activators, GEMC1 and MCIDAS, that both interact with E2F4/5-DP1. How these factors activate transcription and the extent to which they play redundant functions remains poorly understood.

Preclinical models focused on unresectable metastatic CCA are necessary to develop rational treatments. Pathogenic mutations in IDH1/2, ARID1A/B, BAP1, and BRCA1/2 have been identified in 30%-50% of patients with CCA.

Mutational status of the IgHV gene of leukemic clones is a powerful prognostic tool in CLL, and it is well established that unmutated CLLs (U-CLLs) have worse evolution than mutated cases. Nevertheless, progression and treatment requirement of patients can evolve independently from the mutational status.

We find that LOXL2 and H3K4ox are higher in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) cell lines and patient-derived xenografts (PDXs) than those from other breast cancer subtypes. ChIP-seq revealed that H3K4ox is located primarily in heterochromatin, where it is involved in chromatin compaction.

A total of 272 patients <65 years of age, with good prognosis (136 per arm) were randomized (1:1) to receive six cycles of either RTXM83 or R-rituximab.

The instrument is capable of tracking up to 4 different GNSS satellites, two at L1/E1 band, and two at L5/E5 band. The calibration procedure of the up- and down-looking arrays is presented, the calibration performance is evaluated, and the results of the validation experiments carried out before the field experiments are shown in this paper.

Its main goals are twofold: to test data fusion techniques, and to develop Radio-Frequency Interference (RFI) detection, localization and mitigation techniques. The former is necessary to retrieve complementary data useful to develop geophysical models with improved accuracy, whereas the latter aims at solving one of the most important problems of microwave radiometry.

The coherent component is present for some type of surfaces, and it has been neglected until now because it vanishes for the sea surface scattering case. Taking into account the presence of both scattering components, the estimated Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) for both techniques is computed based on the detectability criterion, as it is done in conventional GNSS applications.

The objective of this study was to project the effect of losartan compared to placebo on the lifetime incidence of ESRD and associated costs from a third-party payer perspective in Mexico.
Methods: A competing risks method was used to estimate lifetime incidence of ESRD, while accounting for the risk of death without ESRD.
An open-label study was undertaken at multiple centers in Mexico to assess the impact of treatment with etoricoxib - a selective cyclo-oxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor - on quality of life (QoL) and pain relief among patients with osteoarthritis (OA), rheumatoid arthritis (RA) or chronic low-back pain (CLBP). The study involved 191 adult patients (aged > 18 years old) who had used non-selective non-steroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for the treatment of OA, RA or CLBP during the month prior to study enrolment. After discontinuation of prior therapy, patients were treated with etoricoxib 60 mg for OA and CLBP,or 90 mg for RA once daily for 2 weeks.

The utility of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is described for the diagnosis in three patients suffering from central nervous system infections, tuberculous meningitis, herpetic encephalitis and cerebral toxoplasmosis. PCR was performed in the cerebrospinal fluid after processing the specimen by two methods, proteinase K digestion and phenol extraction of DNA. Amplification was realized using primers previously described that amplify specific DNA fragments of each microorganisms (insertion sequence IS6110 of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, B1 gene of Toxoplasma gondii, and DNA polymerase gene of Herpes simplex virus).
