Background: Non-motor symptoms (NMSs) in Parkinson's disease (PD) are often overlooked and thus can impede clinical management and significantly reduce the patient's quality of life.
Aims: The study aimed to determine the burden of NMS in the early stages of PD.
Material And Methods: A 1-year observational cross-sectional study was conducted at Mayo Hospital, Lahore, in 2019.
Background: Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is a heterogeneous disease characterized by rapidly progressive, symmetrical limb weakness with hyporeflexia or areflexia. The rare pharyngeal-cervical-brachial (PCB) variant of GBS occurs in 3% of patients, presenting as rapidly progressive oropharyngeal and cervicobrachial weakness characterised by axonal, rather than a demyelinating neuropathy on nerve conduction studies.
Case Description: A 35 year old male presented with a 5-day history of dysphagia, dysarthria, slurred speech and upper limb weakness.
Myeloproliferative disorders (MPD) are associated with vascular thrombosis. Common sites for thrombosis are large arteries; however, less commonly, cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) has also been reported. It is rare to have CVST as an initial presentation of MPD.
