Purpose: Insertion of radioactive strips through the biliary stent has been reported to offer longer survival and patency than an uncovered conventional self-expanding metal stent in patients with unresectable malignant biliary obstruction. The aim of this study was to investigate the safety and effectiveness of intraluminal brachytherapy combined with I seed implantation and transarterial infusion chemotherapy for the treatment of pancreatic head cancer with obstructive jaundice.

Method: From October 2012 to January 2018, 21 consecutive patients diagnosed with biliary obstruction caused by locally advanced, nonmetastatic pancreatic cancer with cytologically or histologically confirmed by biopsy were enrolled and receive treatment with intraluminal brachytherapy using I seed strand and CT-guided percutaneous radioactive seed implantation therapy.

Purpose: The aims of this study were to evaluate treatment responses and predictive factors for overall survival (OS) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients with portal vein tumor thrombosis (PVTT) treated with iodine-125 (I) brachytherapy.

Methods And Materials: Seventy-seven HCC patients with PVTT underwent I brachytherapy after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization. Clinical, laboratory, and radiological evaluation were performed before and after treatment, as well as at 4-6 weeks intervals for 7 years to assess the efficacy and toxicity of therapy.

Purpose: The aims were to determine the incidence of seed migration to the chest and to analyze the predictive factors after iodine-125 brachytherapy for hepatocellular carcinoma.

Methods And Materials: Three hundred ninety-nine patients with hepatocellular carcinoma underwent iodine-125 seed brachytherapy. After seed implantation, chest X-ray radiograph or computerized tomography were undertaken to assess the occurrence and location of seed migration at 3 months after brachytherapy.

Background: This study aims to evaluate the application value of Guglielmi detachable coils (GDCs) in the embolization of iatrogenic renal hemorrhage.

Methods: Twelve iatrogenic renal hemorrhage patients who failed conservative treatment were randomly treated by superselective transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE) with GDCs, gelatin sponge, and microcoil embolization, respectively. The efficacy of treatment, damage to renal function, and renal infarct size were observed.

Aim: To assess the efficacy of combined transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) and percutaneous microwave coagulation therapy (PMCT) for small hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

Methods: Thirty-five patients with a total of 41 HCC nodules (<= 3 cm in diameter) were treated with TACE followed by computed tomograghy (CT)-guided percutaneous microwave coagulation therapy (PMCT) within 1-3 wk.

Results: By biopsies and enhanced CT scans, complete necrosis of the tumor and 3-5 mm of the surrounding non-cancerous area were observed in 34 foci.
