Background: This study aimed to develop and validate a nomogram model for predicting 28-day mortality in patients with sepsis in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed data from 331 patients with sepsis admitted to the ICU as a training set and collected a validation set of 120 patients. Both groups were followed for 28 days.
Background: We aimed to compare the clinical effects of continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) with different hemofilters in patients with septic shock and acute kidney injury (AKI).
Methods: Thirty patients with septic shock complicated with AKI admitted to The Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University from 2018-2020 were selected and divided into the control and observation groups. The control group was treated with CRRT using the conventional ST-100 hemofilter.
Currently, the mechanism of the chronotropic ability of stem cells modified to express the hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated (HCN) gene remains to be elucidated. The present study assessed the effects of mouse (m)HCN2 gene modification on the expression of chronotropic relevant receptors, adrenergic receptor β1 (Adrb1) and cholinergic receptor muscarinic M2 (Chrm2), in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) co-cultured with atrial myocytes. BMSCs were divided into the following four groups: i) BMSCs transfected with the mHCN2 gene and co-cultured with atrial myocytes for 48 h (TF + CO); ii) respective transfection (TF); iii) respective co-culture (CO); and iv) the control group without treatment (CTL).
