Near-ultraviolet (NUV)-pumped white light-emitting-diodes (WLEDs) often suffer from poor color rendering in the 480-520 nm range, highlighting the need for an efficient cyan phosphor with strong absorption at 370-420 nm. This study presents the successful synthesis of cyan-emitting ZnS/ZnO phosphors using a high-energy planetary ball milling method followed by post-annealing. The fabricated phosphors, with particle sizes ranging from 1 to 3 μm, exhibit strong cyan emission with CIE chromaticity coordinates of (0.

However, a significant outbreak of quartan malaria caused by occurred in Khanh Vinh District, Khanh Hoa Province, Vietnam in 2023 and the outbreak persists. In this report, we present the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of this unprecedented outbreak of quartan malaria in Vietnam.

The Mehran risk score has been widely used in Vietnam to assess contrast-induced nephropathy risk in patients before coronary angiography and percutaneous coronary intervention. Recently, there has been a shift toward the adoption of simpler risk prediction models, such as the contrast volume-to-glomerular filtration rate ratio.

We studied rifampicin tolerance in isolates with or without isoniazid resistance (IR). Using a minimum duration of killing assay, we measured rifampicin survival in isoniazid-susceptible (IS, n=119) and resistant (IR, n=84) isolates, correlating tolerance with bacterial growth, rifampicin minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs), and isoniazid-resistant mutations.

We devised a modified sputum digestion and decontamination method that maximised storage capacity and (M.tb) recovery from culture while minimising laboratory workload and risk of contamination.

However, due to the harmful effects of these high-energy rays on plants, violet- or blue-excited deep-red-emitting phosphors are considered a more appropriate solution. In this work, SrAlO:Cr phosphors were synthesized using a simple solid-state reaction, revealing a strikingly sharp deep-red emission band centered at 694 nm and effective excitation by violet light.

When full equipment is unavailable, we adapt it by using aortic balloon occlusion to enhance the patient's hemodynamics and mitigate the risk of intraprocedural exsanguination. This approach effectively addresses the rupture of abdominal aortic aneurysms in patients with unstable hemodynamic conditions.

Methods: All patients with rifampicin resistant tuberculosis were recruited from Hanoi and surrounding provinces between 2020 and 2022. Additional patients were recruited from Ho Chi Minh city over the same time period.
Mortality from tuberculous meningitis (TBM) remains around 30%, with most deaths occurring within 2 months of starting treatment. Mortality from drug-resistant strains is higher still, making early detection of drug resistance (DR) essential. Targeted next-generation sequencing (tNGS) produces high read depths, allowing the detection of DR-associated alleles with low frequencies.

In most cases, ingested foreign bodies usually pass uneventfully through the gastrointestinal tract and complications only present in less than 5% of all patients. In this report, we present the first documented case of pulmonary artery injury due to a fish bone in a 63-year-old male patient hospitalized with hemoptysis after accidentally swallowing a fish bone 30 days ago.

Fixed-dose combination (FDC) therapy offers a promising approach to addressing this challenge by providing a convenient single-tablet solution that enhances the effectiveness of blood pressure control. In our systematic review, we assess the effectiveness of perindopril/amlodipine FDC in managing blood pressure.

Hot spots of DS and MDR TB incidence were observed in the central parts of Ho Chi Minh City, and substantial heterogeneity was observed across wards. Positive spatial autocorrelation was observed for both DS TB and MDR TB.

Our study aims to investigate the factors related to higher levels of anxiety and/or depression (HAD) in individuals with ED. Between November 2022 and March 2023, a face-to-face survey was conducted at the Center for Andrology of Viet Duc University Hospital, involving 390 patients diagnosed with ED.

In this study, we analyzed long-term daily observational data, including water levels and water discharge, spanning from the ~1950s to 2021 at seven gauging stations within the Red River basin. We investigated the spatiotemporal variation in mean water levels using standard analytical tools, including the Mann-Kendall (MK) test, rating curves, and Empirical Orthogonal Function (EOF).

Eu-doped phosphors have been much attractive owing to their narrow-band red emission peak at 610-630 nm with high color purity; however, the weak and narrow absorption band in the NUV region limits their applications. Doping a higher amount of Eu ions into a non-concentration quenching host could be key to enhancing the efficiency of the absorption value and emission intensity. Hence, the design of Eu-heavily doped phosphors with a suitable host lattice is key for applications.
