Automated segmentation and detection of tumors in CT scans of the liver and kidney have a significant potential in assisting clinicians with cancer diagnosis and treatment planning. However, current approaches, including state-of-the-art deep learning ones, still face many challenges. Many tumors are not detected by these approaches when tested on public datasets for tumor detection and segmentation such as the Kidney Tumor Segmentation Challenge (KiTS) and the Liver tumor segmentation challenge (LiTS).

This study aimed to compare the cost-effectiveness of alternative strategies to prevent MTCT of HBV in Vietnam. Cost-utility analysis using a hybrid decision-tree and Markov model were performed from healthcare system and societal perspectives.

Mandatory reporting to the national electronic communicable disease surveillance system (eCDS) has been required since July 2016. We conducted an evaluation of the hepatitis B surveillance system in Ninh Binh, the province with the highest reported burden of hepatitis B in Northern Vietnam, between 2017 and 2022.

Two novel series, namely, febrifugine analogues 4a-i and quinazolinone conjugated benzimidazoles 9a-c, were successfully synthesized starting from isatoic anhydride. The synthesized quinazolinone derivatives were evaluated for their cytotoxicity against cancer cell lines and SARS-CoV-2 3CL inhibitory activity.

Despite its efficacy, this procedure is associated with various complications, among which distal catheter obstruction poses significant challenges. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the in laparoscopic revision of distal catheter obstructions, offering a novel approach to mitigate this prevalent issue.

The biophysical properties of each filament type individually have been studied extensively by cell-free reconstitution. By contrast, the interactions between the three cytoskeletal networks are relatively unexplored.

While telehealth has initially expanded access to mental healthcare at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has not resolved the challenges associated with the increasing demand for services and the shortage of available providers. This commentary explores the intricate interconnections between wait times, readiness for and appropriateness of therapy, and engagement in treatment.

This systematic review and meta-analysis, encompassing 27 observational cohort studies with a minimum one-year follow-up period, aimed to examine temporal trends in breast cancer survival rates. Among the subset of five out of eleven Southeast Asian nations with available data, our analysis revealed pooled survival rates of 88.

Background: The authors compared the clinical, MR, and clinical outcomes for patients with multilevel cervical spondylotic myelopathy (MCSM) who underwent laminoplasty (LP) versus laminectomy with fusion (LPSF).
Materials And Methods: The authors evaluated 65 patients with MCSM (2019-2021) with 31 undergoing LP versus 34 having LPSF. Variables studied included JOA scores, T2W MR hyperintense cord signals, preoperative lordosis, number of stenotic levels, and neurological outcomes.
Background & Aims: Sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) are potential modifiable risk factors for reducing the risk of metabolic syndrome (MetS); however, there is a lack of an umbrella review that robustly synthesizes the evidence. This review aims to synthesize the evidence linking habitual SSBs intake with MetS in adults, emphasizing the need for policy and regulatory actions.
Methods: Four databases were comprehensively searched for relevant meta-analyses of prospective studies up to July 2023.
From the aerial parts of , four thymol derivatives (-) were isolated and structurally elucidated by NMR and mass spectroscopic methods. Of which, a new dimeric thymol derivative () was characterized and its absolute configuration was established by electronic circular dichroism quantum method. In addition, the 1D and 2D NMR as well as HR-ESI mass spectral data of were provided for the first time.

In the present study, 12 belinostat derivatives (four resynthesized and eight new), HDAC inhibitors, were resynthesized either Knoevenagel condensation, or Wittig reaction, or Heck reaction. Then an evaluation of the antiproliferative activities against myeloma cells MOPC-315 was carried out.

Background: As of 10 October 2021, Vietnam has recorded 835,036 locally acquired Covid-19 cases including 20,520 fatalities. In response to the coronavirus illness outbreak Vietnam adopted a number of public health measures including contact tracing and testing mandatory quarantine and lockdowns. Lockdown measures during the Covid-19 pandemic are demonstrated to negatively impact psychological and mental health problems such as depression.

Infection occurs when their biflagellated zoospores move across the soil at their characteristic high speed and reach the roots of a host plant. Despite the relevance of zoospore spreading in the epidemics of plant diseases, individual swimming of zoospores have not been fully investigated.

Biorobotic fishes have a huge impact on the development of underwater devices due to both fast swimming speed and great maneuverability. In this paper, an enhanced CPG model is investigated for locomotion control of an elongated undulating fin robot inspired by black knife fish. The proposed CPG network includes sixteen coupled Hopf oscillators for gait generation to mimic fishlike swimming.

We aimed to investigate the prevalence of COVID-19 asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic infections during the second wave of COVID-19 in Viet Nam, and to better understand the duration of SARS-CoV-2 infection and the dynamics between the evolution of clinical symptoms and SARS-CoV-2 test positivity among confirmed COVID-19 cases.
Methods: We conducted a cohort analysis on the first 50 confirmed cases during the second COVID-19 wave in Viet Nam using clinical, laboratory and epidemiological data collected from 9 March to 30 April 2020.

Deformable registration is a crucial step in many medical procedures such as image-guided surgery and radiation therapy. Most recent learning-based methods focus on improving the accuracy by optimizing the non-linear spatial correspondence between the input images. Therefore, these methods are computationally expensive and require modern graphic cards for real-time deployment.
