The acute effects of methoxphenidine on behaviour and pharmacokinetics profile in animal model.

Methoxphenidine (MXP) is classified as a new psychoactive substance that has recently emerged on the illicit drug market. Understanding the pharmacological and behavioural profiles of newly emerging drugs is essential for a better understanding of their psychotropic effects and potential toxicity. Therefore, in this study, we investigated a broad range of effects of acute MXP administration: pharmacokinetics in the brain and serum; behaviour (open field and prepulse inhibition), systemic toxicity (lethal dose; LD 50), and histopathology changes in parenchymal organs of Wistar rats.

The Rare Gynecologic Sarcoma Study: Molecular and Clinicopathologic Results of A Project on 379 Uterine Sarcomas.

The Rare Gynecologic Sarcoma study involved 23 institutions from 10 countries focusing on myxoid leiomyosarcoma and non-smooth muscle uterine sarcomas. Here, we present the main results of the study, including the comparison between the original and final diagnosis, the frequency and type of molecular aberrations, and the clinicopathologic outcomes. A total of 379 cases were included, with available results for next-generation sequencing (NGS) RNA in 338 of 379 cases and NGS DNA in 335 of 379 cases.

Study of Using Ultrasonic Waves in the Producing Dried Dragon Fruit Peel Processes.

In this study, ultrasound waves were successfully applied to the osmosis process of dried dragon fruit products. Additionally, this study was aimed at determining the suitable parameters for the process of drying dragon fruit peels. The parameters including the size of slices (2-5 cm), blanching time (10-25 min), ultrasonic time (10-25 min), ultrasonic temperature (45°C-60°C), ultrasonic power (100-250 W), and drying temperature (45°C-60°C) were fully investigated.

Identifying symptom cluster in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy-in Vietnam: A cross-sectional study.

Background: Major cancer treatments can cause a wide range of unpleasant symptoms that burden oncology patients. Different symptom clusters (SC) among cancer patients have been reported in the literature. This study determined the prevalence of symptoms patients experience during chemotherapy treatment and identified symptom clusters among them.

Due to the rapid development of this product, the authenticity of many famous brands has faded by the rise of adulteration. Therefore, in this study, principal component analysis (PCA) was combined with chemical analysis to identify 6 sausage brands.

Sleep quality among non-hospitalized COVID-19 survivors: a national cross-sectional study.

Objectives: Insomnia is a common symptom after COVID-19 infection; however, its current evidence was among hospitalized COVID-19 patients. This study aimed to assess the prevalence of insomnia and identify its association with depression and anxiety among non-hospitalized COVID-19 recovered population.

Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional online survey of 1,056 COVID-19 survivors within 6 months of initial COVID-19 infection and retrieved did not require hospitalization.

Predicting Anxiety and Depression Among Erectile Dysfunction Patients: A Cross-Sectional Study.

In Vietnam, erectile dysfunction (ED) is prevalent and recognized to be associated with mental disorders; however, societal taboos impede a comprehensive understanding of this connection. Our study aims to investigate the factors related to higher levels of anxiety and/or depression (HAD) in individuals with ED. Between November 2022 and March 2023, a face-to-face survey was conducted at the Center for Andrology of Viet Duc University Hospital, involving 390 patients diagnosed with ED.

Combining angiotensin receptor blockade and enzyme replacement therapy for vascular disease in mucopolysaccharidosis type I.

Vascular involvement in the genetic disorder mucopolysaccharidosis type I (MPS I) has features of atherosclerotic disease near branch points of arterial vasculature, such as intimal thickening with disruption of the internal elastic lamina, and proliferation of macrophages and myofibroblasts. Inflammatory pathways are implicated in the pathogenesis of vascular disease in MPS I animal models, evidenced by cytokines like CD18 and TGF-β within arterial plaques. The angiotensin II-mediated inflammatory pathway is well studied in human atherosclerotic coronary artery disease.

Effects of music intervention combined with progressive muscle relaxation on anxiety, depression, stress and quality of life among women with cancer receiving chemotherapy: A pilot randomized controlled trial.

Occurrence, biomagnification, and risk assessment of parabens and their metabolites in marine fish: The case study of Vietnam.

Parabens have emerged as the primary preservative of choice in numerous consumer goods, prompting growing apprehension regarding their potential for human exposure. The study employed the optimized QuEChERs sample extraction method and the UHPLC-Q-Orbitrap HRMS system to generate the initial contamination profiles of seven parabens and their four metabolites in a total of 114 fish samples found along the coastline of Vietnam. The findings of the study indicated that methylparaben was the predominant substance detected, exhibiting the highest concentration in the largehead hairtail (Trichiurus lepturus) species at 32.

Perfluoroalkyl substances in food contact materials: preliminary investigation in Vietnam and global comparison.

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) are a group of concerned persistent toxic substances, especially for their application or unintentional formation in food contact materials (FCMs). However, information about the occurrence, sources, and fate of these pollutants in food packaging materials from Vietnam as well as Southeast Asian countries is probably still obscured. In this study, levels of 13 perfluoroalkyl carboxylic acids (PFCAs) and 4 sulfonates (PFSs) were determined in various types of food packaging samples collected from Vietnamese markets.

Neuroendocrine Marker Expression in Primary Non-neuroendocrine Epithelial Tumors of the Ovary: A Study of 551 Cases.

Expression of neuroendocrine (NE) markers in primary ovarian non-NE epithelial tumors has rarely been evaluated. The aim of our study was to evaluate the expression of the most widely used NE markers in these neoplasms and to determine any prognostic significance of NE marker expression. The cohort consisted of 551 primary ovarian tumors, including serous borderline tumors, low-grade serous carcinomas, high-grade serous carcinomas (HGSC), clear cell carcinomas, endometroid carcinomas, mucinous borderline tumors, and mucinous carcinomas.

Magnetic Activated Carbon from ZnCl and FeCl Coactivation of Lotus Seedpod: One-Pot Preparation, Characterization, and Catalytic Activity towards Robust Degradation of Acid Orange 10.

Lotus seedpods (LSPs) are an abundant and underutilized agricultural residue discarded from lotus seed production. In this study, ZnCl and FeCl coactivation of LSP for one-pot preparation of magnetic activated carbon (MAC) was explored for the first time. X-ray diffraction XRD) results showed that FeO, Fe, and ZnO crystals were formed in the LSP-derived carbon matrix.

Towards a Standardized Approach for the Geographical Traceability of Plant Foods Using Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) and Principal Component Analysis (PCA).

This paper presents a systematic literature review focused on the use of inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) combined with PCA, a multivariate technique, for determining the geographical origin of plant foods. Recent studies selected and applied the ICP-MS analytical method and PCA in plant food geographical traceability. The collected results from many previous studies indicate that ICP-MS with PCA is a useful tool and is widely used for authenticating and certifying the geographic origin of plant food.

Coastal landscape classification using convolutional neural network and remote sensing data in Vietnam.

The length of global coastline is about 356 thousand kilometers with various dynamic natural and anthropogenic. Although the number of studies on coastal landscape categorization has been increasing, it is still difficult to distinguish precisely them because the used methods commonly are traditional qualitative ones. With the leverage of remote sensing data and GIS tools, it helps categorize and identify a variety of features on land and water based on multi-source data.

In-Hospital cardiac arrest complicating ST-elevation myocardial Infarction: Temporal trends and outcomes based on management strategy.

Background: There are limited data on the relationship of ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) management strategy and in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA).

Aims: To investigate the trends and outcomes of IHCA in STEMI by management strategy.

Methods: Adult with STEMI complicated by IHCA from the National Inpatient Sample (2000-2017) were stratified into early percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) (day 0 of hospitalization), delayed PCI (PCI ≥ day 1), or medical management (no PCI).

Primary Mucinous Tumors of the Ovary: An Interobserver Reproducibility and Detailed Molecular Study Reveals Significant Overlap Between Diagnostic Categories.

Primary ovarian mucinous tumors represent a heterogeneous group of neoplasms, and their diagnosis may be challenging. We analyzed 124 primary ovarian mucinous tumors originally diagnosed as mucinous borderline tumors (MBTs) or mucinous carcinomas (MCs), with an emphasis on interobserver diagnostic agreement and the potential for diagnostic support by molecular profiling using a next-generation sequencing targeted panel of 727 DNA and 147 RNA genes. Fourteen experienced pathologists independently assigned a diagnosis from preset options, based on a review of a single digitized slide from each tumor.

One Patient With 4 Different Primary Cancers: A Case Report.

Background: The development of medicine, especially in oncology, has been helping prolong the cancer patients' survival, but also leads to increasing the possibility of getting multiple cancers. However, the possibility of getting 4 primary cancers in 4 different sites is extremely rare.

Case Presentation: A 63-year-old female patient was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2018, and then with right colon cancer in 2019.

Concentrations of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in Vietnamese takeaway coffee: effects of coffee variety, roasting temperature and time.

The research goal was to estimate the level of risk to human health posed by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in Vietnamese takeaway coffee. A variety of roasted coffee beans were collected and tested for the presence of PAHs in various takeaway locations throughout Vietnam. Furthermore, the effect of roasting conditions on PAH concentrations in Vietnamese Robusta coffee was also studied and demonstrated.
