Article Synopsis
  • * EFPs help maintain a healthy balance in gut microbiota by boosting beneficial bacteria and reducing harmful bacteria, which is crucial for effective lipid processing.
  • * EFPs promote the production of bile acids and short-chain fatty acids while decreasing harmful lipopolysaccharides, highlighting their potential for improving public health through better understanding of EFPs, GM, and lipid metabolism connections.

Article Synopsis
  • * Analysis showed that TFP (2238 kDa) and TFLP (3 kDa) are acidic polysaccharides, mainly made up of mannopyranose, exhibiting strong in vivo antioxidant effects and enhanced immune responses in both C. elegans and mice models.
  • * TFLP demonstrated superior immune enhancement and antioxidant activity over TFP, contributing to the growth of beneficial gut bacteria in immunosuppressed mice and significantly increasing short-chain fatty acids levels.

Different methods were used to degrade Tremella fuciformis polysaccharides (TFP) and prepare low molecular weight polysaccharides of Tremella fuciformis (TFLP) to improve their bioavailability. It was found that the TFLP prepared by ultrasonic-assisted HO-Vc method showed the highest level of antioxidant activity and stress resistance in C. elegans.
