Ramp controllers are required to manage their workloads effectively while handling complex operational tasks, a crucial part of improving aviation safety. The ability to detect their instantaneous workload is vital for ensuring operational effectiveness and preventing hazardous incidents. This paper introduces a novel methodology aimed at enhancing the evaluation of the ramp controller's cumulative workload by incorporating and optimizing the feature combination from eye movement, respiratory, and fatigue characteristics.

The assessment of the cognitive workload experienced by air traffic controllers is a complex and prominent issue in the research community. This study introduces new indicators related to gamma waves to detect controllers' workload and develops experimental protocols to capture their EEG data and NASA-TXL data. Then, statistical tests, including the Shapiro-Wilk test and ANOVA, were used to verify whether there was a significant difference between the workload data of the controllers in different scenarios.

For air traffic controllers, the extent of their cognitive workload can significantly impact their cognitive function and response time, consequently influencing their operational efficiency or even resulting in safety incidents. In order to enhance the accuracy and efficiency in determining the cognitive workload of air traffic controllers, a cognitive workload detection method for air traffic controllers based on mRMR and fewer EEG channels was proposed in this study. First of all, a set of features related to gamma waves was initially proposed; subsequently, an EEG feature evaluation method based on the mRMR algorithm was employed to pinpoint the most relevant indicators for the detection of the cognitive workload.

Air traffic controllers' mental workload significantly impacts their operational efficiency and safety. Detecting their mental workload rapidly and accurately is crucial for preventing aviation accidents. This study introduces a mental workload detection model for controllers based on power spectrum features related to gamma waves.

The objective of the present study was to clarify the expression characteristics of long non‑coding RNA (lncRNA) FGD5 antisense RNA 1 (FGD5‑AS1) in pancreatic cancer, as well as its biological function and underlying mechanism. Reverse transcription‑quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT‑qPCR) was utilized for the detection of FGD5‑AS1 and microRNA (miR)‑577 expression levels in pancreatic cancer tissues. Transfection was performed to upregulate or downregulate FGD5‑AS1 in pancreatic cancer cell lines.

Tissue-engineered skin, as a promising skin substitute, can be used for in vitro skin research and skin repair. However, most of research on tissue-engineered skin tend to ignore the rete ridges (RRs) microstructure, which enhances the adhesion between dermis and epidermis and provides a growth environment for epidermal stem cells. Here, we prepared and characterized photocurable gelatin methacrylated (GelMA) and poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA) co-network hydrogels with different concentrations.

In this study, a new Cd(II)-bearing coordination polymer with the chemical formula of {[Cd(meda)(dpe)(HO)]·(NO)·2(HO)} (1, Hmeda = 3,3'-methylenedibenzoic acid, dpe = 1,2-di(pyridin-4-yl)ethane) has been successfully prepared by reaction of Cd(NO)·4HO with a V-shape carboxyl ligand Hmeda along with the linear dipyridine ligand dpe under the hydrothermal conditions. Due to its intensive luminescence, complex 1 could be utilized as the sensor of detecting Al ion, and its detection limit is 4 × 10 M. Firstly, the toxicity of the compound on the normal liver cells was determined with Cell Counting Kit-8 detection kit.

Purpose: To investigate the efficacy of surgical resection for patients with different sizes of hepatitis B virus (HBV)-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and to analyze the risk factors influencing the prognosis.

Methods: The clinical data of a total of 138 patients with HBV-related HCC admitted to and treated in our hospital from June 2012 to June 2014 were retrospectively analyzed, and the patients were divided into small HCC (SHCC) group (tumor diameter ≤5 cm, n=69) and solitary large HCC (SLHCC) group (tumor diameter >5 cm, n=69) based on the size of tumors. The differences in operative methods, operation time, intraoperative blood loss, number of intraoperative blood transfusion, time of portal triad clamping and incidence of complications, as well as postoperative liver function and alpha fetoprotein (AFP) indexes, tumor recurrence and survival conditions were compared between the two groups.

This study applied modern econometric models to analyze the factors affecting the number of unsafe events (NUE) in the airport flight area using time series data from 1993 to 2017. Influencing factors considered in this article include gross domestic product (GDP) per capita (GDPPC), household consumption level (HCL), the civil aviation passenger turnover (CAPT), the number of civil aviation transport aircraft (NCATA), the total population of the whole country, and the number of civil aviation employment (NCAE). First, the Johansen cointegration test results demonstrate that HCL, NCATA, and NCAE have long-term effects on unsafe events-namely, a 1% increase in HCL corresponds to an average 0.

Background: Endoscopic sphincterotomy is the established treatment for common bile duct stones. Balloon dilation offers an alternative. Prolonged dilation (300 s) with a 10 mm diameter balloon decreases the occurrence of pancreatitis after endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).

Haze control cost is hard to value by a crisp number because it is often affected by various factors such as regional uncertain meteorological conditions and topographical features. Furthermore, regions may be involved in different coalitions for haze control with different levels of effort. In this paper, we propose a PM cooperative control model with fuzzy cost and crisp coalitions or fuzzy coalitions based on the uncertain cross-border transmission factor.

Background: Since the outbreak of pandemics, influenza has caused extensive attention in the field of public health. It is actually hard to distinguish what is the most effective method to control the influenza transmission within airport terminal. The purpose of this study was to quantitatively evaluate the influences of passenger source, immunity difference and social relation structure on the influenza transmission in terminal.
