Objectives: To identify gaps in knowledge, attitude, and practice regarding the use of corticosteroids and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) among patients with chronic rheumatic diseases.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted using a questionnaire including 12 knowledge questions, 13 attitude assessment statements, 5 barrier assessment statements, and 7 practical scenarios. We counted the total numbers of correct answers in knowledge, positive attitudes, barriers, and appropriate practices and fitted using Poisson regression to examine factors associated with knowledge, attitudes, and practices.
Patients with rare diseases often experience prolonged diagnostic delays. Ordering appropriate genetic tests is crucial yet challenging, especially for general pediatricians without genetic expertise. Recent American College of Medical Genetics (ACMG) guidelines embrace early use of exome sequencing (ES) or genome sequencing (GS) for conditions like congenital anomalies or developmental delays while still recommend gene panels for patients exhibiting strong manifestations of a specific disease.

Controversy persists regarding the safety and efficacy of an accelerated low-dose recombinant tissue-type plasminogen activator (rt-PA) regimen for reperfusion therapy in acute pulmonary embolism. We study n-pulse interaction in fast collisions of N solitons of the cubic nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation in the presence of generic weak nonlinear loss. We develop a generalized reduced model that yields the contribution of the n-pulse interaction to the amplitude shift for collisions in the presence of weak (2m+1)-order loss, for any n and m. We first employ the reduced model and numerical solution of the perturbed NLS equation to analyze soliton collisions in the presence of septic loss (m=3).

We investigate the statistics of flat-top solitary wave parameters in the presence of weak multiplicative dissipative disorder. We consider first propagation of solitary waves of the cubic-quintic nonlinear Schrödinger equation (CQNLSE) in the presence of disorder in the cubic nonlinear gain.
