Studies have suggested that endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS) is involved in neurological dysfunction and that electroacupuncture (EA) attenuates neuropathic pain (NP) via undefined pathways. However, the role of ERS in the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) in NP and the effect of EA on ERS in the ACC have not yet been investigated. In this study, an NP model was established by chronic constriction injury (CCI) of the left sciatic nerve in rats, and mechanical and cold tests were used to evaluate behavioral hyperalgesia.

Although macrophage-mediated inflammation has been established as an important factor in BRONJ, the underlying mechanism remains elusive. In the current study, the roles of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress in zoledronic acid (ZOL)-induced inflammation were analyzed in macrophages, and the regulatory mechanism of ER stress activation was next investigated.

Here, with state-of-the-art tensor-network methods, we study a bilayer t-J-J_{⊥} model for La_{3}Ni_{2}O_{7} and find a robust s-wave superconductive (SC) order mediated by interlayer magnetic couplings. Large-scale density matrix renormalization group calculations find algebraic pairing correlations with Luttinger parameter K_{SC}≲1.

The pterygoid implant is a feasible alternative for posterior dental rehabilitation without grafting; however, the ideal pterygoid implant placement continues to be debated. The aim of this study was to identify effective landmarks and establish valid guidelines to determine the ideal pterygoid implant placement. Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) data of 100 severely atrophied maxillae requiring implant rehabilitation, obtained between January 2015 and December 2018, were included.

However, chemotherapy tolerance has limited the efficacy of cisplatin for ovarian cancer patients. Research has demonstrated that cisplatin causes changes in cell survival and death signaling pathways through its interaction with macromolecules and organelles, which indicates that investigation into the DNA off-target effects of cisplatin may provide critical insights into the mechanisms underlying drug resistance.

Methods: GC-based single-network hydrogels (GC31) and GC-based dual-network hydrogels (DN3131, DN6262) with different composition ratios were prepared. The injectability was defined as the average time needed to expel a certain volume of hydrogel under a constant force.
Background: Computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) surgical templates allow precise mandibular reconstructive surgery. However, their clinical accuracy is limited by manual plate bending. Digitally hydroformed plates maintain a digital workstream in virtual planning.

Methods:: Ten patients were included in the study. Oral rehabilitation was performed using a temporary prosthesis that was supported by remaining teeth for the first three months.
Introduction: This study aimed to report a rare case of hypopituitarism complicated with hyperosmolar hyperglycaemic state and rhabdomyolysis.
Case Presentation: Hypopituitarism is a clinical syndrome in which there is a deficiency in hormone production by the pituitary gland. It often leads to hypoglycaemia, but in this case the patient was complicated with hyperosmolar hyperglycaemic state.
Objective: To overcome the deficiency in the current therapies for erectile dysfunction (ED), we designed and synthesized a novel high-efficiency polymer/gene compound drug controlled release system and discussed the feasibility of pH and temperature dually sensitive injectable hydrogel in ED gene therapy.
Methods: We synthesized optimal siRNA gene nanoparticles by characterizing the zeta potential of polylysine (PLL)/siRNA gene compounds, and established a pH and temperature dually sensitive injectable gene compound drug controlled release system via Schiffs reaction between glycol chitosan (GC) and benzaldehyde capped OHC-PEO-PPO-PEO-CHO. Then we demonstrated the sustained release of the system at different temperatures.

Objective: Lymphatic mapping with vital dye is often exploited during a sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB); however, the time restraints associated with blue dye may limit its efficacy in tongue carcinoma. Using an animal study, this exploration attempted to achieve a rational surgical modality to circumvent this hindrance.
Study Design: Forty-eight rabbits were divided into 2 equal groups: A and B; 0.

Purpose: To evaluate the role of maxillary wings guiding plate in rehabilitation of combined defects of maxilla and mandible in convalescent stage.
Methods: Combined resection of maxilla and mandible without reconstruction were performed in 10 patients with oral cancers. The impressions were got in 2 patients preoperatively and 8 patients postoperatively because of preoperative limited mouth opening.

Purpose: To investigate the role of NF-kappaB signal transduction pathway in apoptosis induced by shikonin in human tongue squamous cell carcinoma Tca-8113 cell line.
Methods: Expression of IkappaBa, phosphatase-IkappaBa, bcl-2 and Bax proteins were detected by Western blot, NF-kappaB DNA-binding activity was detected by electrophoretic mobility shift analysis (EMSA), and activities of caspase 3, caspase 8 and caspase 9 were analyzed by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA). The data was analyzed by one-way ANOVA test and t test using SPSS12.

Objective: To investigate the application of individualized free anterolateral thigh combined flap (ALTCF) for tongue and mouth floor defect resulted from tongue carcinoma.
Methods: From 2006 to 2008, individualized ALTCFs were used in 31 cases of tongue and mouth floor defects resulted from tongue carcinoma. The nutritional perforator vessel was musculocutaneous pattern in 22 cases and septocutaneous pattern in 9 cases.
Background And Objectives: With technical adaptations, recent studies showed SLNB could predict cervical nodes status of head and neck carcinoma with high accuracy. However, as for tongue carcinoma, such technical adaptations seem to be not enough because the tongue has peculiar characteristic which may demand a specific procedure for accurate lymphatic mapping. This investigation explored the effect of lingual septum on lymphatic mapping of tongue to provide data for achieving an accurate lymphatic mapping for managing early tongue carcinoma.

To express human papillomavirus (HPV) L1 capsid protein in the recombinant strain of Shigella and study the potential of a live attenuated Shigella-based HPV prophylactic vaccine in preventing HPV infection, the icsA/virG fragment of Shigella-based prokaryotic expression plasmid pHS3199 was constructed. HPV type 16 L1 (HPV16L1) gene was inserted into plasmid pHS3199 to form the pHS3199-HPV16L1 construct, and pHS3199-HPV16L1 was electroporated into a live attenuated Shigella strain sh42. Western blotting analysis showed that HPV16L1 could be expressed stably in the recombinant strain sh42-HPV16L1.
