Patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and chronic kidney disease (CKD) are at high risk of contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN), which can subsequently worsen the overall prognosis. To evaluate the efficacy of spironolactone for CIN prevention, 410 patients with AMI and CKD receiving percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) were retrospectively analyzed. Among them, 240 and 170 patients were enrolled in the standard treatment and spironolactone groups (spironolactone was administered 2 days before and 3 days after PCI), respectively.

This study explores the optimal neoadjuvant therapy model by comparing the survival differences between patients with non-metastatic pancreatic cancer (cT1-4N0-1M0) who received neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) and neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (NARCT).

Background: In order to explore the surgical safety and the reliability of axillary staging of single-port endoscopic-sentinel lymph node biopsy, we combined it with indocyanine green that was excited by near-infrared fluorescence endoscopy and carbon nanoparticles as a tracer and compared this method to conventional open sentinel lymph node biopsy.

Methods: This is a retrospective and observational study, there were 20 patients in each group and the total sample size was 60: Group 1, single-port endoscopic-sentinel lymph node biopsy combined with indocyanine green and carbon nanoparticles; Group 2, single-port endoscopic-sentinel lymph node biopsy with carbon nanoparticles only; Group 3, conventional sentinel lymph node biopsy with indocyanine green and carbon nanoparticles. Sentinel lymph node detection and upper extremity function were determined to measure the safety and efficacy of the novel single-port endoscopic-sentinel lymph node biopsy (SPE-SLNB) technique to the standard conventional sentinel lymph node biopsy technique.

It is extremely important to identify patients with acute pancreatitis who are at high risk for developing persistent organ failures early in the course of the disease. Due to the irregularity of longitudinal data and the poor interpretability of complex models, many models used to identify acute pancreatitis patients with a high risk of organ failure tended to rely on simple statistical models and limited their application to the early stages of patient admission. With the success of recurrent neural networks in modeling longitudinal medical data and the development of interpretable algorithms, these problems can be well addressed.
