The Chinese giant salamander (CGS) Andrias davidianus is the largest extant amphibian and has recently become an important species for aquaculture with high economic value. Meanwhile, its wild populations and diversity are in urgent need of protection. Exploring the mechanism of its early gonadal differentiation will contribute to the development of CGS aquaculture and the recovery of its wild population.

Reactive response inhibition cancels impending actions to enable adaptive behavior in ever-changing environments and has wide neuropsychiatric implications. A canonical paradigm to measure the covert inhibition latency is the stop-signal task (SST). To probe the cortico-subcortical network underlying motor inhibition, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) has been applied over central nodes to modulate SST performance, especially to the right inferior frontal cortex and the presupplementary motor area.

Soft pneumatic actuators (SPAs) have attracted enormous attention in the growing field of robotics. Among different SPAs, composite reinforced actuators (CRAs) are widely used because of their simple structure and high controllability. However, multistep molding, a time-consuming method, is still the predominant fabrication method.

It typically involves a postural and motor tremor of the hands, head or other part of the body. Essential tremor is driven by a central oscillation signal in the brain.

The lack of reliable sensory feedback has been one of the barriers in prosthetic hand development. Restoring sensory function from prosthetic hand to amputee remains a great challenge to neural engineering. In this paper, we present the development of a sensory feedback system based on the phenomenon of evoked tactile sensation (ETS) at the stump skin of residual limb induced by transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS).

The in vitro pharmacological screening results revealed that the target compounds exhibited potent cytotoxicity against HeLa, SK-OV-3 and MGC-803 tumor cell lines, while they showed lower cytotoxicity against HL-7702 normal human river cells. Compound 9n (IC50 = 6.

Structures of all compounds were characterized by NMR and HRMS. Anti-proliferative activities for all of these compounds were investigated by the method of MTT assay on 7 human cancer lines and the normal cell lines (HUVEC).

In the presence of a catalytic amount of Ce(OTf)3, both benzyl and phenyl azides react with a broad range of aryl nitroolefins containing a range of functionalities selectively producing 1,5-disubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles in good to excellent yields.

Experimental results indicated that mono(indolyl)methanol is not the reaction intermediate under these reaction conditions.
