The Chinese giant salamander (CGS) Andrias davidianus is the largest extant amphibian and has recently become an important species for aquaculture with high economic value. Meanwhile, its wild populations and diversity are in urgent need of protection. Exploring the mechanism of its early gonadal differentiation will contribute to the development of CGS aquaculture and the recovery of its wild population.

Effects of transcranial magnetic stimulation on reactive response inhibition.

Reactive response inhibition cancels impending actions to enable adaptive behavior in ever-changing environments and has wide neuropsychiatric implications. A canonical paradigm to measure the covert inhibition latency is the stop-signal task (SST). To probe the cortico-subcortical network underlying motor inhibition, transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) has been applied over central nodes to modulate SST performance, especially to the right inferior frontal cortex and the presupplementary motor area.

Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of Novel Dehydroabietic Acid Derivatives Conjugated with Acyl-Thiourea Peptide Moiety as Antitumor Agents.

A series of dehydroabietic acid (DHAA) acyl-thiourea derivatives were designed and synthesized as potent antitumor agents. Synthesis and pharmacological evaluation of novel bisindole derivatives bearing oximes moiety: identification of novel proapoptotic agents.

In an effort to develop potent anti-cancer chemopreventive agents, a novel series of bisindole derivatives bearing oxime moiety were synthesized. Structures of all compounds were characterized by NMR and HRMS. Anti-proliferative activities for all of these compounds were investigated by the method of MTT assay on 7 human cancer lines and the normal cell lines (HUVEC).

Ce(OTf)₃-catalyzed [3 + 2] cycloaddition of azides with nitroolefins: regioselective synthesis of 1,5-disubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles.

The first example of rare earth metal-catalyzed [3 + 2] cycloaddition of organic azides with nitroolefins and subsequent elimination reaction is described. In the presence of a catalytic amount of Ce(OTf)3, both benzyl and phenyl azides react with a broad range of aryl nitroolefins containing a range of functionalities selectively producing 1,5-disubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles in good to excellent yields.

RuCl₃·3H₂O catalyzed reactions: facile synthesis of bis(indolyl)methanes under mild conditions.

RuCl₃·3H₂O was found to be an effective catalyst for reactions of indoles, 2-methylthiophene, and 2-methylfuran with aldehydes to afford the corresponding bis(indolyl)methanes, bis(thienyl)methanes, and bis(fur-2-yl)methanes in moderate to excellent yields. Experimental results indicated that mono(indolyl)methanol is not the reaction intermediate under these reaction conditions.
