Potassium (K) is an essential nutrient for the growth and development of most plants. In banana (Musa acuminata L.), microRNA160a (miR160a) is suggested to potentially contribute to the response to low K stress by modulating the auxin signaling pathway.

We hypothesize that Ang1-7 inhibits human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) ferroptosis through NF-κB/P53 signal pathway, and reduces extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) vascular injury.
Methods: Cultured HUVEC were seeded into 15 wells and randomly divided into five groups: the control group and four experimental groups (erastin, erastin + Ang1-7, erastin + Ang1-7 + Betulinic acid, erastin + Betulinic acid).

Background: Sinomenine hydrochloride (SH) has anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects, and its effectiveness in inflammatory diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, has been demonstrated. However, whether SH has a therapeutic effect on dextran sodium sulfate (DSS)-induced ulcerative colitis (UC) in mice and its mechanism of action have not been clarified. This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects and mechanism of action of SH on UC.

In this study, untargeted metabolomics and in vitro functional methods were employed to analyze fruit extracts from 11 significant species of the genus. An investigation of the distribution of metabolites (quinolone and indole quinazoline alkaloids) in these species indicated that () was the most widely distributed species, followed by (), (), (), and ().

Objective: A clinical diagnostic model of gastric low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia (LGIN) was developed and validated to improve the identification of precancerous lesions in gastric cancer.
Methods: A retrospective analysis of 1211 patients with chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) and 1089 patients with LGIN admitted to the Endoscopy Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical College from January 2016 to December 2021 was performed to record basic clinical and pathological information.A total of 1756 patients were included after screening and were divided unequally and randomly into 2 groups, one for establishing an LGIN predictive nomogram (70% of patients) and the other for external validation of the model (30% of patients).
Major challenges when ensiling sugarcane tops include fermentation that results in high quantities of alcohol and decrease in nutrient digestibility due to the accumulation of fiber components. Increased efforts to apply bacteria-enzyme inoculants in silage have the potential to improve nutrient digestibility. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of ensiling sugarcane tops with bacteria-enzyme inoculants or mixed bacterial inoculants on growth performance, nutrient digestibility, and rumen microbiome in beef cattle.

According to GLOBOCAN2020's global incidence rate and mortality estimates, CRC is the third main cause of cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. The US Food and Drug Administration has approved auranofin for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.

Methods: Initially, the knockdown and overexpression of in HCC cells were carried out by short interfering RNA (siRNA) and plasmid transfection.
Gastric cancer is a malignant tumor with high mortality and high incidence. This study aims to explore the function and molecular mechanism of Cortactin on gastric cancer progression in vitro and in vivo. A bioinformatics analysis from TCGA displayed that Cortactin was highly expressed in gastric cancer samples, and patients with a high Cortactin level had a worse survival rate.

Here we report that a maternal factor TDP-43, a nuclear transactive response DNA-binding protein, regulates ZGA through RNA Pol II and is essential for mouse early embryogenesis.

Background: Rice blast caused by Magnaporthe oryzae is one of the most devastating diseases of rice, and novel fungicides for controlling rice blast are needed owing to the problem of resistance to commonly used control agents. We previously found that methanol extract of Lycoris radiata (L'Her.) Herb.

However, the role of LAR in predicting all-cause mortality in patients with acute pancreatitis has not been evaluated. Therefore, this study aimed to elucidate the correlation between LAR and 28-d all-cause mortality in patients with Acute Pancreatitis (AP).

Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) targeting gut microbiota has recently been applied to the treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC). However, preliminary trials showed that only a subset of patients responded to FMT, and the heterogeneity in donor gut microbiota probably played important roles in patients' responses, implying the significance of matching an appropriate donor to a specified patient. We developed a strategy to build a donor-recipient matching model to guide rational donor selection for UC in FMT.

This study investigated the common mechanisms of drug resistance and EMT from the perspective of metabolic reprogramming, which may offer new ideas to improve anticancer therapy. Acquired resistant cells were found to grow faster and have a greater migratory and invasive capacity than their parent cells.
