Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma is a fatal malignancy that lacking specific therapies. Homeobox B4 (HOXB4) was negatively correlated with poor prognosis in cancers, but its role in hepatocellular carcinoma has not been elucidated.
Results: We confirmed that HOXB4 was downregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma tissues and lower HOXB4 expression associated with poor prognosis.
Emissions of particulate matter (PM) originating from industrial and agricultural incineration had emerged as a significant public health concern. Furthermore, the considerable annual production of straw remains underutilized, particularly in China. In this study, we proposed a novel approach for holocellulose air filter production from corn stalks via low-temperature anthraquinone pulping, partial dissolving, and high-speed shear-induced regeneration.

However, current molecular docking tools are typically implemented in languages such as C++ for calculation speed, which lack flexibility and user-friendliness for further development. Moreover, validating the effectiveness of external scoring functions for molecular docking and screening within these frameworks is challenging, and implementing more efficient sampling strategies is not straightforward.

However, the introduction of soft long chains, with their high mobility under strong electric fields, leads to high dielectric loss. Given the relatively low modulus of relaxor ferroelectric polymers, elastification can be realized by introducing short-chain crosslinkers.

Method: In March 2022-March 2023, 150 psychiatric nurses from four hospitals in Lanzhou were selected for the study, randomly grouped into experimental group and control groups (75 per group), the experimental group participated the Balint Group activities biweekly, the control group only attended mental health knowledge lectures. Job stress, negative emotion and empathy of the two groups before and after the intervention were evaluated and compared by using job stressor Scale, coping style Assessment Scale, self-assessment scale for depression, self-assessment Scale for anxiety and Jefferson Empathy Scale.

Accurate protein-ligand binding poses are the prerequisites of structure-based binding affinity prediction and provide the structural basis for in-depth lead optimization in small molecule drug design. However, it is challenging to provide reasonable predictions of binding poses for different molecules due to the complexity and diversity of the chemical space of small molecules. Similarity-based molecular alignment techniques can effectively narrow the search range, as structurally similar molecules are likely to have similar binding modes, with higher similarity usually correlated to higher success rates.

RC nanofibers (RCNFs) have attracted an increasing attention in various applications due to their high aspect ratio and good flexibility. Herein, a novel and facile strategy for RCNFs preparation with high-speed shear induced in urea solution through "bottom-up" approach was proposed in this work.

Objective: This study aims to understand the public's psychological cognition and intention toward blood donation as well as the factors influencing their worries.
Soil salinity is often heterogeneous in saline fields. Nonuniform root salinity increases nitrate uptake into cotton (Gossypium hirsutum) root portions exposed to low salinity, which may be regulated by root portions exposed to high salinity through a systemic long-distance signaling mechanism. However, the signals transmitted between shoots and roots and their precise molecular mechanisms for regulating nitrate uptake remain unknown.

Conventional cellulose hydrogels were usually lacked responsiveness to changing wound conditions, and limited capacity for controlled release of active substances. The composite hydrogels with Berberine (BBR) loading were prepared from bamboo parenchymal cellulose and in situ crosslinking carboxylated-β-cyclodextrin (BPCH-B) via dissolution.

However, whether GhHY5 regulates nitrate uptake in cotton is unknown. In this study, the cotton seedlings growing in light and dark conditions were treated with N-labeled nutrient solution to study whether the GhHY5 regulates nitrate uptake in cotton.

First, based on the VLC channel model, a position-domain model of reliable AP (R-AP) for a random-orientation receiver (RO-receiver) is proposed. The channel gain of the VLC link between the receiver and the R-AP is non-zero.

Due to the excellent transmission characteristics of seismic waves in the earth channel, there is no need for the seismic wave communication system to set up relay nodes. Since seismic waves are not easily disturbed by the external environment, they can be used as a new type of emergency communication carrier to realize information transmission.

Studies indicate that repeat blood donors are safe blood sources because of their voluntary blood donation education and frequent blood screening. However, the high rate of reduction in the number of first-time voluntary blood donors and low rate of repeated blood donation are common problems worldwide.

However, whether PDX can prevent and treat obesity in high-fat diet (HFD)-fed mice has not been directly investigated, and further studies are needed to better understand the complex interactions among PDX, adipose tissue inflammation and the gut microbiota. In the present study, PDX reduced body weight, fasting blood glucose (FBG), adipose tissue accumulation, adipocyte hypertrophy, serum total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels in HFD-fed mice.
